Mechanical Design Engineer II will work on problems of moderate scope where data analysis is required for evaluation of identifiable factors and exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine the appropriate action.\nThe Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer will network with senior internal members and external personnel to complete tasks of a specific area of expertise, such as knowledge on tolerance analysis, thermal and environmental analysis, usage of various metals, plastic and elastomers and must be a developing professional.This person must also apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. This job is a fully qualified, career-oriented, mid-to senior level position.\nSalary range: $125K - $140K\nJob Function:\nDesign Mechanical parts for surface mounted or through hole insertion. Design mechanical fixtures for Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) packages.\nProvide mechanical design inputs for PCB and ceramic substrates during design phase.\nCreating, outlines and case styles of models developed by the Electrical Engineering Team.\nProvide details for Bill of Materials of all mechanical components (e.g. carrier plates, fixtures, packing material, fasteners or other mechanical hardware, etc.) for model designers to include in BOM.\nIntroducing new Carrier Tapes for SMT products or new packing materials, which are needed, where our currently designed tapes and packing scheme cannot meet requirements.\nUpdating existing Outlines/case styles/Mechanical component designs or any other associated documentation as result of any design errors, manufacturing process accommodation, sub-contractors or customers’ requests.\nOrdering Mechanical parts for prototypes from the machine shop or from outside sources.\nUnderstands ISO awareness. Participate in internal and external audits.\nExpectations and Growth:\nDuring the first 6-12 months:\nDevelop proficiency using the PLM (Arena preferred), tool and ERP tool.\nPrepared to put efforts to keep basic Mechanical Engineering knowledge updated.\nAptitude in following procedures defined in various documents ex. following design rules and following Company procedures (CPs).\nDemonstrate full understanding of standard MCL assembly and manufacturing methods.\nDemonstrate full understanding of various Mech design associated standard governed by EIA, IPC, MIL standards, etc.\nAbility to design/select packing material for finished products.\nDemonstrate productive results with quality output in specific job functions\nThe duties, responsibilities and expectations described above are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the member, within the scope of the position.\nQualifications:\nEducation:\nBachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience OR\nMaster of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.\nPreferred specialization: Mechanical Design or Test Fixture Design.\nJob Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:\nHands on Mech Engineer. Must be familiar with design and drafting practices using CAD software like AutoCAD, Draftsight, and SolidWorks.\nCAD assisted FEM for thermal, and environmental analysis highly preferred. Must be capable of understanding if measured results are correct and agree with theory.\nExperience with IC device clamping for RF / DC test, mechanical compression tolerancing and analysis, and Test Fixture design.\nMust have a basic understanding of connectorized products, surface mount products and printed circuit board manufacturing methods and techniques.\nDemonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate responses to drawing requests and any questions/queries in relation to job tasks.\nComputer skills including Microsoft Office Programs, Adobe Acrobat, etc.\nExperience with SAP preferred\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
