Operations Engineering Intern Summer 2027

About the Role

Our summer internships are full-time (40 hours/week), paid positions lasting 10-11 weeks. We offer competitive compensation, educational and social programming throughout the summer, as well as housing assistanceand relocation support for eligible interns.

Engineering roles in the Operations engineering group can include manufacturing engineers and process engineers, along with other exciting roles. Examples of work in each of these areas are listed below.

Manufacturing Engineer

• Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing,machiningand material handling.

• Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensuremostefficient and productive layout.

Process Engineer

• Provides technical and sustaining engineering support in a manufacturing area.

• Recommends and implements equipment and process modifications to meet quality standards and improve production efficiencies, manufacturingtechniquesas well as production yields for existing products.

Location and Work Model

Software Engineering Internships are based in Northridge, CA. All interns must residein the U.S. for the duration of the internship.

Interns are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week and participatefull time, 40 hoursper week, as part of the intern cohort from June 1 through August 13 for semester system programs or June 14 through August 20 for quarter system programs.

Must Have:MinimumRequirements

To be considered for a Summer 2027 engineering internship, your resume must clearly demonstratehow you meet each of these basic requirements.

• Working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering majorwith an anticipatedgraduation date of Winter 2027, Spring 2028, Winter 2028, or Spring 2029.

• Ability to participatefull time, 40 hoursper week, as part of the intern cohort from June 1-August 13 for semester system programs or June 14-August 20 for quarter system programs.

• Applicants forMiniMed’sSummer Internship Program must be currently authorized to work in the United States. MiniMed does not sponsor work authorization for internship positions. Individuals on temporary visa classifications, including E, F-1 (CPT or OPT), H-1, H-2, L, B, J, or TN, as well as anyone whorequiresemployment sponsorship now or in the future, are not eligible forMiniMed’sSummer Internship Program.

Nice to Have

• A minimum 3.0 out of a 4.0 cumulative GPA

• Knowledge of one or more of the following technologies: C/C++, C#, SQL, Python, Minitab, MATLAB, CAD: SolidWorks/Autocador equivalent

• Prior work on projects in a team environment

• Relevant academic project, internship, or lab experience

• Technical writing skills

• Experience with statistics and data analysis or Digital IC Design Theory

The MiniMed Internship Program offers an hourly rate of pay that falls within the range of $26.50 to $45.25 per hour. The hourly rate offered will be determined by the position and is subject to variation based on the number of years of school completed. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
