This role is responsible for delivering standardized, automated, and reusable cloud foundations-such as account provisioning, identity integration, networking baselines, and deployment pipelines-that enable application teams to move quickly without compromising security, governance, or reliability.\nThe Cloud Engineer works closely with Cloud Engineering, Architecture, Security, and Operations to translate architectural standards into durable platform services. The emphasis is on automation-first delivery, infrastructure-as-code, and building platforms that scale through consistency rather than manual effort.\nCloud Engineering & Delivery\nDesign, engineer, and operate foundational cloud services primarily on AWS, with support for Azure and GCP as part of a multi-cloud strategy.\nBuild and maintain standardized platform components including account provisioning, identity and access integration, networking foundations, and shared services.\nTranslate architectural standards and guardrails into reusable, production-grade platform implementations.\nInfrastructure as Code & Automation\nDevelop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to ensure repeatable, auditable, and version-controlled deployments.\nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions to support platform automation and safe change delivery.\nReduce manual effort and operational toil through automation and self-service patterns.\nObservability & Reliability\nImplement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting standards for platform services using native cloud tooling and approved third-party observability platforms.\nPartner with SRE and Operations teams to improve reliability, resilience, and recovery of platform components.\nParticipate in incident response and post-incident reviews for platform-related services, driving corrective and preventative improvements.\nSecurity, Governance & Compliance Enablement\nPartner with Architecture, Security, and Governance teams to enforce identity, access, tagging, and compliance guardrails across cloud environments.\nEnsure platform services are secure-by-default, auditable, and aligned with regulatory and enterprise standards.\nSupport policy-as-code and guardrail automation where applicable.\nDocumentation & Enablement\nContribute to platform blueprints, reference architectures, and technical documentation.\nPublish clear guidance and patterns that enable application teams to consume platform services consistently.\nShare knowledge and best practices across the engineering organization.\nMinimum Qualifications\n8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, Cloud Engineering, or DevOps roles.\nStrong hands-on experience with AWS; exposure to Azure and/or GCP strongly preferred.\nProven proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.\nHands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tooling.\nSolid understanding of core cloud services including IAM, networking, compute, storage, and monitoring.\nExperience with container platforms and orchestration (e.g., ECS, EKS, AKS, or GKE).\nAbility to work effectively in an Agile environment and collaborate across engineering, security, and operations teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.\nFamiliarity with cloud governance constructs such as AWS Organizations and Control Tower, Azure management groups and policies, or GCP projects and folders.\nExposure to FinOps practices, cost optimization techniques, or automated remediation tooling.\nRelevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Professional Cloud Engineer.\nStrong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical documentation and platform standards.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nPlatform services are reliable, repeatable, and consumed broadly by application teams.\nCloud environments launch with consistent security, networking, and governance baselines.\nManual effort decreases as automation and self-service increase.\nPlatform standards are implemented in code, not enforced through meetings.\nApplication teams can move faster because the platform “just works.”\nPhysical Job Requirements\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.\nBenefits & Compensation\nMiniMed offers a competitive salary and flexible benefits package\nAt MiniMed, we put people first.
