This role will partner closely with IT, engineering, cloud, and risk teams to reduce cyber risk, improve\nsecurity posture, and support compliance with regulatory and industry standards. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on technical\nexpertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence secure design decisions across the organization.\nResponsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.\nDetection, Response & Vulnerability Management\nSupport security monitoring, detection engineering, and incident response activities\n\nLead or support investigations of security incidents and recommend corrective actions\n\nManage vulnerability scanning, assessment, prioritization, and remediation efforts\n\nWork with infrastructure and application teams to reduce risk through secure configuration and patching\n\nCloud & Application Security\nImplement and manage cloud security controls across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP\n\nSupport secure CI/CD pipelines, application security testing, and secrets management\n\nPartner with development teams to embed security into the SDLC (DevSecOps practices)\n\nIdentity, Access & Data Protection\nDesign and support IAM solutions including authentication, authorization, and privileged access management\n\nImplement encryption, key management, and data protection controls\n\nEnsure least privilege access and secure identity lifecycle management\n\nImplement and manage Data Loss Prevention controls\n\nGovernance, Risk & Collaboration\nAlign security controls with regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR as applicable)\n\nContribute to security policies, standards, and technical procedures\n\nProvide security guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and cross functional teams\n\nCommunicate risks and recommendations clearly to technical and non technical stakeholders\n\nSecurity Engineering & Architecture\n\nDesign, implement, and maintain security solutions across on prem, cloud, and hybrid environments\n\nEvaluate and integrate security technologies such as endpoint protection, IAM, network security, and cloud security controls\n\nDevelop and maintain security architecture patterns, standards, and technical documentation\n\nPerform threat modeling and security design reviews for new systems and applications\n\nRequired Knowledge and Experience:\nRequires mastery level knowledge of specialty area and working knowledge of several other areas, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.\nMay have deep knowledge of project management.\n12+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of experience with an advanced degree or 12+ years of experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or equivalent experience\n\n10-12 years of hands on experience in security engineering, cybersecurity, or related technical roles\n\nStrong understanding of: Network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, segmentation)\n\nOperating system security (Windows, Linux)\n\nCloud security fundamentals and shared responsibility models\n\nExperience implementing and operating enterprise security tools\n\nSolid scripting or automation skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash)\n\nProven ability to analyze security risks and design practical mitigation strategies\n\nExperience in regulated industries (healthcare, medical devices, finance, or similar)\n\nHands on experience with one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)\n\nKnowledge of DevSecOps tooling and practices\n\nSecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, GIAC, or equivalent\n\nExperience with infrastructure as code and configuration management tools\n\nStrong analytical and problem solving skills\n\nAbility to work independently and lead technical initiatives\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\n\nCollaborative mindset with the ability to influence without authority\n\nAttention to detail with a risk based approach to security\n\nPhysical Job Requirements\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.\nBenefits & Compensation\nMiniMed offers a competitive salary and flexible benefits package\nAt MiniMed, we put people first.
