This role is responsible for supporting the backend needs of the Minnesota PBS website, developing API-based integrations between internal systems, creating application solutions for departments across the organization, and supporting migration from legacy ERP technologies to modern platforms. The position partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to assess business needs, design practical and maintainable solutions, and resolve application-level support issues. A strong belief in the mission of Minnesota PBS, and the service we provide to our community is crucial.\nCompensation: $90,000 to $100,000 annually in addition to company providedbenefits.\nHybrid Work Environment: Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the Twin Cities Metro area and report to the onsite office a minimum of three days per week.\nWebsite Support, Maintenance, and Ongoing Development (50% of time)\nWorks with Marketing to triage requests and provides ongoing support for the organization's digital platform focused on stability, usability, and ongoing improvements. Includes:Maintenance and support of the Payload CMS and front-end website.\nBug fixes, performance improvements, and troubleshooting; works directly with third-party service providers like Vercel and Supabase to address issues and outages.\nContent publishing support and CMS assistance for Marketing team.\nMonitoring and issue resolution related to integrations (PBS, Engaging Networks, ACD).\nUX/UI refinements; partners with stakeholders on usability testing and QA.\nEnhancements and iterative improvements to existing functionality.\nTechnical guidance and support across the platform.\n\nIn collaboration with Marketing, develops new website features and enhancements that improve functionality in response to cross-departmental business needs. Includes:Ongoing prioritization, planning, and coordination with internal teams and stakeholders.\nProduct and technology recommendations based on understanding of current trends.\nBackend development and iterations based on feedback and UX.\n\nEvaluates legacy systems and services that are no longer needed to support the current digital ecosystem. Includes:Research to understand our highly matrixed system.\nData-informed recommendations and decision making.\nTechnical capabilities to sunset or disable unneeded products.\n\n Application support and internal system integration (40% of time)\nDesign, develop, and maintain application solutions that support business processes and operational needs across departments.\nDevelop and support API-based integrations between internal systems, third-party platforms, and cloud services to improve data flow and reduce manual processes.\nSupport migration from legacy ERP systems and related technologies to modern application platforms, including data integration, process mapping, testing, and transition support.\nTranslate business requirements into technical specifications, conceptual designs, integration plans, and maintainable application solutions.\nDevelop current and future state application architecture road maps in partnership with business and IT teams.\nDesign intuitive, well-modeled API endpoints for internal and user-facing consumption, using OpenAPI specifications and API testing tools to document and validate integrations.\nEvaluate and recommend new technologies that align with organizational needs, technical standards, security requirements, and long-term maintainability.\nDocument application designs, integrations, support procedures, system dependencies, and migration plans from a technical perspective.\nApplication-level support requests (10% of time)\nRespond to support requests that require application-level assessment, troubleshooting, remediation, or coordination with vendors and internal technical teams.\nAnalyze reported issues to determine root cause, business impact, system dependencies, and appropriate remediation steps.\nPartner with departments to clarify requirements, prioritize support needs, communicate status, and implement practical solutions.\nParticipate as an active member of the IT Team. Contributes to shared goals, innovation and collaboration with colleagues on achievement of priorities.\nStay up to date with the latest developments in the field and seek out opportunities for personal and professional growth.\nComplete other projects & tasks assigned.\nRequired Experience\nAt least 4 years of experience with a proven track record of success in software architecture, software development, application support, or DevOps, with a portfolio of successful software or integration projects that demonstrate strong technical skills and leadership.\nAt least 4 years of experience developing current and future state application or domain architecture road maps in partnership with business and IT teams.\nAt least 4 years of experience designing, developing, testing, documenting, and supporting backend services, APIs, integrations, and application solutions.\nAt least 4 years of experience supporting web applications, internal systems, application integrations, data flows, and application-level troubleshooting in a business environment.\nPreferred Experience\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.\n5-7 years of experience in software development, application architecture, solution design, or DevOps, with a strong portfolio of successful software projects that demonstrate technical skills and leadership.\n5-7 years of experience architecting solutions for internal systems, business applications, APIs, integrations, cloud services, and cross-department workflows.\n5-7 years of experience with AWS developer tools and services used to build, deploy, monitor, secure, and maintain application solutions.\nPrevious experience with database administration, including database maintenance, performance awareness, backup and recovery practices, data integrity, security, and support of application data needs.\nPrevious experience with ERP, CRM, and SaaS integrations.\nKnowledge, skills and abilities:\nStrong knowledge of advanced software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.\nProven experience working with and protecting sensitive data and user privacy, and the ability to create solutions that follow data security and privacy regulations.\nAbility to communicate technical concepts effectively with non-technical stakeholders and to lead cross-functional teams towards shared goals.\nAbility to conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with technical standards and software architecture.\nExperience establishing, maintaining, and applying architecture standards, disciplines, and principles in all areas of engagement.\nExperience documenting development plans, processes, and overall applications from a technical perspective.\nCapable of creating internal Proof-Concepts, following thorough testing procedures.\nStrong computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite -
