It is ideally suited to someone who enjoys solving complex accounting issues, improving reporting quality and setting clear standards across regional Finance teams. It is not an FP&A, commercial finance or business-partnering role.\nWhat you’ll be responsible for\nOwning the monthly, quarterly and year-end Group consolidation process\nReviewing consolidated results, Group accounting entries, intercompany eliminations and foreign currency accounting\nLeading the preparation of Group statutory financial statements\nSetting Group reporting standards, formats, timetables and submission deadlines\nReviewing regional submissions and challenging unusual or insufficiently supported accounting treatments\nProviding technical guidance on complex matters under UK GAAP and FRS 102\nMaintaining Group accounting policies and ensuring their consistent application\nResearching and documenting significant accounting judgements\nLeading the day-to-day management of the external audit and coordinating regional deliverables\nSupporting the accounting assessment of acquisitions, disposals, restructurings and other significant transactions\nManaging, coaching and developing the Group Financial Accountant\nBuilding effective relationships with Regional Financial Controllers, external auditors and the wider Finance leadership team\nWhat we’re looking for\nACA, ACCA or an equivalent accountancy qualification\nIdeally five or more years of relevant post-qualification experience\nStrong working knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102\nSignificant Group consolidation experience within an international, multi-entity organisation\nExperience preparing or reviewing Group statutory financial statements\nStrong experience managing external audits, deliverables and timetables\nThe ability to research complex accounting issues and document technical judgements clearly\nA strong understanding of intercompany accounting, foreign currency and balance-sheet accounting\nHands-on ERP experience, with NetSuite particularly advantageous\nExcellent organisation and attention to detail\nA confident communication style, with the ability to provide direction and constructively challenge senior Finance colleagues\nExperience managing, supervising or reviewing the work of other accountants\nIt would be an advantage if you also have\nKnowledge of US GAAP, particularly in a business with significant US operations\nBig Four or other major accounting firm experience\nExperience of acquisitions, disposals, purchase price allocations or other complex corporate transactions\nExperience working in a multinational, multi-currency Group\nWhy this role?\nThis is an opportunity to take ownership of critical Group accounting processes and shape the quality and consistency of financial reporting across an international organisation.
