Position Summary:

Miovision is seeking a Solutions Engineer to join our V2X team to act as a technical sales consultant, core builder and technical solutions architect bridging customer needs, product capabilities, and software engineering principles. In this role, you will tackle complex operational problems, assess infrastructure, systems, data, and technical constraints, and rapidly prototype and validate solutions that demonstrate tangible value. You will work across the solution lifecycle, from technical discovery and proof of value through field validation and iterative improvement, translating successful approaches into scalable product capabilities, engineering requirements, and operational solutions.

Location: This role is open to candidates within the United States OR those based in Canada who are able to work in a hybrid model with our HQ in Kitchener, Ontario.

Objectives and Responsibilities:

• Pre-Sales Support: Provide expert pre-sales technical support for complex hardware and software deployments across customer environments.

• Rapid Prototyping: Design and implement rapid prototypes or custom workflow proof of concepts to solve complex client challenges that existing solutions do not address, to help secure wins for Miovision.

• Demos and Presentations: Lead compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations for both technical and executive audiences.

• Proof of Value (POV) Validation: Own the Proof of Value (POV) documentation to secure the technical win and validate ROI.

• Solution Mapping: Assess customer infrastructure and map Miovision solutions directly to agency pain points.

• Training and Change Management: Deliver on-site technical training and lead change management for customer engineers and solution architects.

• Target Execution: Collaborate directly with Account Executives to hit individual and team sales incentive quotas.

• Value Discovery: Analyze daily customer operations to uncover new value and accelerate software expansion.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner internally with Account Executives, Product Management, and Engineering colleagues to drive technical alignment and support growth opportunities.

Ideal Profile:

• Technical Pre-Sales: Prior experience in solutions engineering, technical consulting, or technical pre-sales and deep knowledge of networking products, hardware/software integration, and rapid prototyping.

• Domain Expertise: Experience in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), transportation infrastructure, fleet/telematics, or connected vehicle technology.

• Analytical and Technical Problem Solving: Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous technical problems, analyze operational and system data, develop and test hypotheses, identify meaningful patterns and performance measures, and translate findings into practical solutions.

• Self-Starter Mindset: Highly adaptable builder capable of independently learning new programming languages, platforms, and AI tools to create novel solutions.

• Business Analysis: Strong capability in process mapping, workflow redesign, and creating clear ROI business cases.

• Persuasive Communication: Exceptional ability to adapt highly technical messaging for non-technical buyers to influence purchasing decisions.

• Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field and/or a advanced technical degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) is an asset. Equivalent demonstrated experience in quantitative analysis, applied research, or complex engineering problem solving is also valued.

• Ability to Travel: Willing to travel at least 5% and able to travel freely between the US and Canada.

• Nice-to-Have: The following would be a strong asset but are not required;

  • Python Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Python for software prototyping, deep debugging, and automation workflows.

  • Mathematical Modeling and Machine Learning: Understanding of mathematical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and practical AI tooling.
