With operations across Europe, Asia and the USA, we combine the reach of a global organisation with a strong local presence.\n\nWe are looking for an experienced Import/Export Coordinator to join our team in Farnborough.\n\nThis is a varied and important role responsible for ensuring the smooth, compliant and cost-effective movement of goods across international borders. You will coordinate shipments, manage customs and shipping documentation, support accurate invoicing and work closely with customers, suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents and teams across the business. \n\nWhat you’ll be doing\nCoordinating inbound materials and outbound finished goods in line with production and customer delivery schedules\nBooking and managing freight across air, sea, road and rail\nTracking shipments and resolving delays, damage, shortages and customs-clearance issues\nPreparing and checking import and export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, airway bills, bills of lading and certificates of origin\nEnsuring the correct application of commodity codes, customs valuations, Incoterms, duties, VAT and tariff requirements\nMaintaining compliance with export controls, sanctions, licensing requirements and rules of origin\nLiaising with suppliers, customers, freight forwarders, carriers and customs brokers\nObtaining and comparing freight quotations and monitoring logistics costs\nUpdating ERP/MRP systems with order, shipment, receipt and dispatch information\nRaising accurate sales invoices, credit notes and pro-forma invoices\nSupporting month-end activities and resolving invoicing or shipment discrepancies\nIdentifying opportunities to improve costs, transit times and import/export processes\n\nWhat we’re looking for\n\nSkills & Experience\n\nEssential\nPrevious experience in an import/export, shipping, logistics or order-processing role\nWorking knowledge of import and export documentation\nA good understanding of Incoterms and how they affect cost, responsibility and risk\nExperience entering orders and raising invoices using an ERP or similar business system\nExperience working with customers, suppliers, freight forwarders and customs agents\nExcellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately to deadlines\nStrong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills\nA confident and proactive approach to following up and resolving issues\n\nDesirable\nExperience within a manufacturing environment\nKnowledge of UK customs procedures including post-Brexit requirements, commodity codes, rules of origin, and VAT treatment of exports\nWorking knowledge of customs systems or declarations (e.g. CDS) \nFamiliarity with export controls, sanctions, and licensing requirements\nExperience handling multi-currency invoicing and exchange rates\nKnowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems\n\nWhy join Mirion?\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a broad international logistics role within a global technology organisation.
