This is a highly practical engineering role combining robotics systems integration,\nlab and assembly work, physical testing, software/QA automation, and field support.\nYou will work closely with robotics, mechanical, electrical, software, perception, and product\nengineers to integrate new hardware and software, execute system-level tests, diagnose\nfailures, and help move Flippy from engineering development through production and\ndeployment.\nThis position requires someone who is comfortable working both at a computer and directly\non the robot-assembling components, running experiments, reproducing failures, collecting\ndata, writing automated tests, and supporting robots operating in customer environments.\nThis is an on-site position in Pasadena, California, five days per week.\nWhat You'll Do\nBuild, configure, test, and troubleshoot Flippy robotic systems, including mechanical, electrical, sensor, and software components.\n\nDevelop and execute system-level verification, validation, regression, and reliability tests for new hardware and software releases.\n\nBuild automated testing tools and scripts using Python to improve test coverage, efficiency, and repeatability.\n\nDiagnose complex hardware and software failures, analyze system data, and collaborate with engineering teams to identify root causes and validate fixes.\n\nSupport prototype development, system integration, and occasional customer deployments to improve robot reliability and real-world performance.\n\nWhat You'll Bring\n2+ years of hands-on experience with robotics, automation, electromechanical systems, or similarly complex integrated hardware/software products.\n\nStrong mechanical and technical aptitude, with demonstrated experience assembling, testing, debugging, and repairing physical systems.\n\nWorking proficiency in Python for test automation, diagnostics, or engineering applications.\n\nExperience with system-level testing, hardware/software integration, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.\n\nDegree in Robotics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Must be able to work on-site in Pasadena, CA, five days per week.\n\nDesired Multipliers\nExperience with robotic arms, industrial automation, or deployed robotic systems.\n\nFamiliarity with Linux, ROS/ROS2, and robotics middleware.\n\nExperience developing hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, automated test frameworks, or CI/CD integrations.\n\nBackground in robotics startups, engineering labs, or fast-paced hardware development environments.\n\nCompensation\n$110,000-$140,000 per year + Benefits\nThe stated compensation range reflects the targeted base salary range for candidates residing in the Los Angeles Metro area and does not include additional compensation or benefits.
