At Mission Australia, we believe that creating places where people can access support, find stability and build a better future is fundamental to our vision of building hope and possibility.\nAs our Facilities Manager, Freehold, you will play a critical role in managing\nMission Australia’s freehold property portfolio nationally, ensuring our buildings are safe, fit for purpose and ready to support the life-changing work delivered across communities throughout Australia. Working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and service teams, you'll help create environments that enable our people and services to thrive while contributing to meaningful outcomes for Australians in need\nYour key responsibilities will be to:\nManage statutory and regulatory compliance obligations across the freehold portfolio.\nCoordinate fire safety, essential services, building compliance and other required certification.\nMaintain current and auditable compliance registers, records and supporting documentation.\nIdentify, assess, report and manage property-related risks ensuring all assets are compliant.\nDevelop and maintain asset lifecycle plans for freehold properties.\nCoordinate property condition assessments, inspections and asset data collection.\nMaintain accurate and current freehold property, compliance, asset and condition information within MA systems.\nManage planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across the freehold portfolio.\nReview maintenance requests, determine priorities and oversee works through to completion.\nManage property maintenance, facilities and professional services contracts in accordance with Mission Australia’s policies and procedures.\nEnsure contractors and service providers maintain required licences, qualifications, insurances and compliance documentation.\nMonitor contractor performance against contractual obligations and agreed service levels.\nAddress contractor performance, safety, quality or service delivery issues in a timely manner.\nPlan and deliver approved capital works, refurbishment and property improvement projects.\nDevelop project scopes, budgets, schedules, risk assessments and documentation.\nPrepare and manage operating, maintenance and capital budgets for the freehold portfolio.\nCommunicate property issues, risks, planned work and interruptions clearly and promptly.\nBuild and maintain productive relationships with contractors, consultants, regulatory authorities and other external stakeholders.\nRequirements for success\nProven experience managing a diverse property, facilities or asset portfolio across multiple sites and stakeholders.\nStrong knowledge of facilities management, property operations, asset lifecycle management and property compliance requirements.\nDemonstrated experience managing statutory compliance programs, including fire safety, essential services, building compliance and regulatory obligations.\nExperience identifying, assessing and mitigating property-related risks while maintaining accurate compliance records and registers.\nDemonstrated experience managing planned, preventative and reactive maintenance programs to ensure properties remain safe and fit for purpose.\nExperience managing contractors, service providers, procurement activities and commercial contracts to achieve quality and value-for-money outcomes.\nWell-developed project management skills, with experience delivering capital works, refurbishments and property improvement projects on time and within budget.\nBefore starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.\nYour benefits\nTo ensure our employees feel valued, empowered, and celebrated, we provide a range of employee benefits including:\nRewarding work - every day you know you’re making a real difference\nNot-for-profit salary packaging, reducing your tax (details via AccessPay)\nFree external, confidential counselling and access to chaplaincy support\nVolunteering opportunities \nOpportunity to purchase additional annual leave \nExtra leave including: Mission Australia Thank You Day & Work Anniversary Day off\nOur culture\nOur innovative and inclusive culture will ensure you feel valued at Mission Australia as you help Australians in need and develop in your career.\nWe prioritise the safety and wellbeing of everyone, both within our team and the individuals we serve.\nWe are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive working environment.
