We’re seeking an experienced Program Manager with strong mental health and AOD experience to lead our Adult and Youth AOD and Commonwealth Psychosocial Support programs across the Far West. You’ll lead case workers and peer workers, strengthen local partnerships and support your team to deliver compassionate, person-centred services that respond to the needs of each community. With Mission Australia, you’ll have the opportunity to lead with purpose and help people recover, reconnect and build healthier, more stable lives.\nYour responsibilities will be to:\nLead, support and develop multidisciplinary teams delivering Adult and Youth AOD and Commonwealth Psychosocial Support services across Broken Hill and Dareton.\nProvide values-led leadership, coaching and supervision that builds a capable, engaged and accountable team.\nOversee case work and peer-led service delivery, ensuring services are person-centred, culturally responsive and focused on positive client outcomes.\nEnsure programs meet contractual requirements, funding guidelines, quality frameworks, KPIs and organisational policies.\nFoster safe, consistent and high-quality practice across services supporting people experiencing mental health, psychosocial and AOD challenges.\nBuild and maintain strong partnerships with local health providers, community organisations, referral partners and other stakeholders across Far West NSW.\nUse a strong understanding of Broken Hill, Dareton and Far West communities to support locally responsive service delivery.\nMonitor program performance, identify risks and opportunities, and drive continuous improvement across the services.\nManage program resources, budgets and expenditure responsibly while maintaining effective service delivery.\nChampion a culture of safety, inclusion, collaboration and client focus, ensuring children and young people accessing services are supported within a child-safe environment.\nRequirements for Success\nRelevant tertiary qualification combined with substantial experience in community, health, human services or a related field.\nDemonstrated experience within mental health and Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) services, with the ability to lead teams working with people with complex support needs.\nStrong people leadership skills, with demonstrated experience coaching, developing and supporting multidisciplinary teams.\nSound understanding of psychosocial support, recovery-oriented and person-centred approaches.\nExperience leading programs within a complex community service environment while achieving service outcomes, contractual requirements and KPIs.\nStrong understanding of Far West NSW communities, including the opportunities and challenges associated with delivering services across regional communities.\nDemonstrated ability to establish trusted relationships and collaborate effectively with community organisations, health services and other key stakeholders.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead through change, navigate complexity and address issues constructively.\nExperience managing budgets, resources, reporting, risks and compliance requirements.\nCurrent NSW Driving Licence\nBefore starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.\nYour benefits\nTo ensure our employees feel valued, empowered, and celebrated, we provide a range of employee benefits including:\nRewarding work - every day you know you’re making a real difference\nNot-for-profit salary packaging, reducing your tax (details via AccessPay)\nFree external, confidential counselling and access to chaplaincy support\nVolunteering opportunities \nOpportunity to purchase additional annual leave \nExtra leave including: Mission Australia Thank You Day & Work Anniversary Day off\nOur culture\nOur innovative and inclusive culture will ensure you feel valued at Mission Australia as you help Australians in need and develop in your career.\nWe prioritise the safety and wellbeing of everyone, both within our team and the individuals we serve.\nWe are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive working environment.
