Observes packaging operations and inspects products and containers to verify conformance to specifications. Perform pre-run inspection, line checks and notifies maintenance as required.\nReviews production schedule and estimates labor hour requirements. Adjust work procedures and makes recommendations as required to gain efficiency, eliminate problems, and meet production schedule.\nInterprets company policies and applicable safety regulations to Line Operators. Ensure Packaging Line Operators are in compliance with SOP, cGMP and company policy.\nMaintains daily time measurements and enters data into Lincs for Packaging department KPI calculation and tracking. Confers with other managers/supervisors to coordinate interdepartmental activities as required to meet the production schedule.\nConducts product failure investigations and identifies corrective actions. Performs required Line Operator training for SOP, cGMP and safety. Audits MPR’s and Logbooks. Assists in the resolution of employee related issues.\nPerform any other related duties as required or assigned.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. Must have a minimum of two (2) years previous manufacturing industry experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry, which demonstrates progressive responsibilities and duties.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nProvides direct, daily supervision of production line employees. May be required to supervise additional employees in the absence of other supervisor/management team members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\nCOMMUNICATION SKILLS\nAbility to read, analyze, and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS\nAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.\nCRITICAL THINKING SKILLS\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.\nSOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED\nKnowledge of Database software, Internet, Inventory software, Project Management software, Excel and Word.\nPHYSICAL ACTIVITIES\nWhile performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; and frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, taste or smell; occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
