Your Opportunity

Join a team that's committed to creating more inclusive communities. As a Local Area Coordinator, you'll support people with disability, their families and carers to build confidence, achieve their goals, and access the supports they need through the NDIS.

This role supports participants across the North East Metro region, working alongside individuals, families, community organisations and service providers to deliver person-centred support and help people strengthen their independence and participation in everyday life.

We're growing our team! We have a full-time, fixed-term opportunity available until 30 June 2027, based at our Midland office.

You'll join a supportive, values-driven team that is committed to making a real impact while investing in your professional development and career growth.

This role is ideal for people with strong administration, customer service, coordination or stakeholder engagement experience who enjoy building relationships, managing competing priorities and helping others achieve their goals.

Whether you're an experienced Local Area Coordinator or looking for a rewarding career supporting people to achieve their goals, you'll be supported with training and development to succeed in the role.

Your Key Responsibilities will be to

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred support to people with disability, their families and carers.
  • Build trusted relationships with participants to understand their goals, strengths and support needs, and assist them to navigate the NDIS.
  • Empower participants to make informed decisions and connect with appropriate community, mainstream, informal and funded supports.
  • Collaborate with families, carers, the NDIA, community organisations and other stakeholders to achieve positive participant outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate participant records, complete administrative tasks, and meet contractual, legislative and quality requirements.
  • Manage a caseload effectively while balancing competing priorities and service delivery outcomes.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture through continuous learning, quality improvement and professional development.

Requirements for Success

  • Relevant qualification in Human Services, Social Work, Community Services or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in a customer-focused, community services, employment services, housing, health or human services environment.
  • Strong administration skills, with experience managing documentation, maintaining accurate records and meeting reporting requirements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and navigate complex conversations.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong digital literacy, with confidence using client management systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence and the ability to meet NDIS Worker Screening Check and NDIA onboarding requirements.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
