This position will partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Asset Integrity teams to help ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production facilities and associated infrastructure.\nThe Mechanical Engineer will provide technical expertise across a variety of mechanical systems, support asset integrity initiatives, assist with equipment evaluations, and contribute to the execution of small capital and maintenance projects. This role will work alongside ConocoPhillips staff engineers to resolve day-to-day operational challenges while ensuring compliance with applicable engineering standards and industry best practices.\nThis position is based in Anchorage, Alaska, with periodic travel to the North Slope required to support field activities and facility operations. Must reside in Alaska or be willing to relocate.\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide mechanical engineering support to Operations, Maintenance, and Asset Integrity teams across Alaska assets.\nAssist company mechanical engineers in evaluating the condition and integrity of piping systems, pressure vessels, storage tanks, HVAC systems, and other mechanical equipment.\nDevelop and recommend practical repair solutions to support safe and reliable operations.\nReview engineering drawings, calculations, technical specifications, and vendor documentation to ensure technical accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project requirements.\nSupport the execution of maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and small capital improvement projects.\nAssist in troubleshooting routine and emergent field issues while providing timely engineering recommendations.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure engineering solutions meet safety, regulatory, and operational requirements.\nPromote compliance with ConocoPhillips engineering standards, industry codes, and asset integrity programs.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license required.\nDemonstrated experience supporting oil and gas production facilities, petrochemical, refining, pipeline, or similar industrial operations.\nStrong understanding of mechanical equipment inspection, maintenance, and repair methodologies.\nExperience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nTechnical Knowledge\nWorking knowledge of applicable engineering codes and industry standards, including:\nASME Section II, VIII, and IX\nASME B31.3, B31.4, and B31.8\nAPI 570, API 650, and API 653\nInternational Mechanical Code (IMC)\nASHRAE Standards\nAdditional experience with the following is highly desirable:\nWelding processes and procedures\nMetallurgy and materials engineering\nQA/QC inspection practices\nPiping and pipeline inspection and repair methodologies\nMechanical stress analysis and piping design\nPreferred Software Experience\nExperience with one or more of the following engineering applications:\nSolidWorks\nAutoPIPE\nAutoCAD\nOther mechanical engineering and stress analysis software as applicable\nPreferred Attributes\nThe ideal candidate is a collaborative, hands-on engineer who is comfortable supporting both office and field operations.
