You’ll oversee collection quality, project delivery, secure working practices, and continuous improvement while supporting the team with hands-on collection and basic equipment troubleshooting.\nThe work being managed can include tasks such as printing out IDs for the system to detect as printouts, printing out generated face images as masks, taking photos of these simulated attacks with different mobile devices or tablets, and tagging them with the exact scenario being collected. This manager will need to provide feedback to the team on their mistakes and how to work more effectively.\nMitek operates with a Virtual 1st approach; however, this position requires working onsite at our Amsterdam office five days per week because of the physical collection activities and secure handling of sensitive materials.\nWhat You'll Do (Essential Responsibilities)\nManage the process of data creation and collection to ensure collection projects are completed on schedule and meet the delivery needs.\nMaintain a secure, organized collection workspace and ensure the team follows established procedures for handling sensitive data, documents, and equipment.\nMeasure the performance of the team and suggest and implement new practices and tool updates to improve team efficiency.\nCommunicate collection progress and status to management and internal stakeholders.\nEstablish best practice procedures for your team and provide training and guidance in collection practices.\nAddress hardware/IT problems in the physical workspace and with the team’s equipment. Perform troubleshooting tasks with the guidance of remote IT professionals. \nWork alongside the collection team to experience difficulties, identify improvements, and help meet delivery deadlines when needed.\nManagerial Responsibilities\nHas authority to hire, develop, appraise, discipline and approve time and attendance for team members\nThe intended number of direct reports is 4 employees in Data Collection roles.\nWho You Are (Soft Skills and Attributes)\nAn effective communicator, comfortable coordinating with multiple stakeholders with different priorities, while simultaneously progressing multiple projects.\nAble to adapt and motivate when priorities or requirements change, and skilled at updating plans and team communications to support alignment, while encouraging them to do the same.\nAble to review the team’s work and provide feedback such as constructive guidance, celebrating individual and team success, and suggesting improvements to processes.\nWhat You Need\nBachelor’s degree in computer science or management, or relevant experience\nEnglish communication skills sufficient to explain procedures, coach team members, and report progress to international stakeholders\nDemonstrated people management experience, including coaching employees, reviewing performance, setting priorities, and participating in hiring.\nExperience handling sensitive or personal data and following established privacy, access-control, and security procedures, including familiarity with GDPR requirements.\nExperience with participation in the hiring process\nExperience working with sensitive data\nExperience operating and troubleshooting phone and computer equipment \n\nWhat Would Be Nice (Preferred Skills & Experience)\nExperience in a management position where you have hired a team\nExperience with moving and hooking up computer peripherals and coordinating the use of shared devices within a team\nExperience in a multi-office company where leadership and other collaborating teams are not in the same physical location\nExperience supporting data collection, annotation, or quality assurance for machine learning, particularly image datasets, computer vision, biometrics, or identity verification.\nExperience with entry-level IT work \nExperience working with Windows and MacOS computers\nExperience working with Android and iOS devices\nWorking Conditions\nOnsite five days per week at our Amsterdam office.\nMovement of some physical hardware (such as printers and monitors)\nUse and management of many kinds of computer
