We're in the middle of an active shift toward AI-augmented engineering - using AI agents and tooling across the SDLC - and our quality engineers play a key role in shaping how that transformation happens. \nAbout the Role \nAs a Software Engineer in Test at Mitratech, you will safeguard the quality of our software products through a balance of automated and manual testing. You will design and maintain Playwright-based test automation, partner closely with developers to drive issues to resolution, mentor junior QA team members, and help evolve our QA practices, including the use of AI-assisted tooling. You will have a significant scope of impact, raising the quality bar across multiple teams. \nWhat You Will Do \nDesign, build, and maintain Playwright + TypeScript end-to-end test frameworks that follow the team's engineering standards for structure, naming, and reusability \nDevelop and execute test plans and scripts, and perform integrated testing to confirm new features and fixes meet business requirements before and after release \nMigrate existing Selenium test suites to Playwright, replacing brittle XPath selectors with Playwright's recommended user-facing locators \nIntegrate Playwright test suites into CI/CD pipelines, including parallel execution, sharding, retries, and publishing of test reports and artifacts \nInvestigate and stabilize flaky tests using Playwright's Trace Viewer, UI Mode, screenshots, and video recordings \nWork closely with developers to report issues clearly, track them to resolution, retest, and communicate results \nReview product release notes and related documentation for accuracy \nMentor junior QA team members and recommend QA methodologies that improve efficiency and quality \nUse AI agents and assistants (such as Claude, Devin, and Copilot) to accelerate test exploration, authoring, and debugging, applying sound judgment on when to trust versus verify AI-generated output \nWhat We Are Looking For \nTo be successful in this role, you will have: \n5-8 years of test automation experience \nStrong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript, including the Playwright Test runner, fixtures, the Page Object Model, and project configuration (browsers, workers, retries) \nSolid command of Playwright locator strategies, auto-waiting, web-first assertions, and network interception and mocking \nExperience with Selenium, Postman, and TestRail \nExperience with regression, smoke, system, integration, and user acceptance testing \nProficiency in authoring, reviewing, and executing manual, ad hoc, and exploratory test cases \nSQL skills for validating and preparing test data \nExperience running automated tests in CI/CD, including Azure DevOps YAML pipelines with test result publishing, artifacts, and scheduled and PR-triggered runs \nExperience with GitHub or Azure DevOps source control \nHands-on experience with AI-assisted coding and testing tools such as Claude, Devin, Copilot, and Playwright MCP \nExcellent communication skills and attention to detail \nNice to Have \nAgile, Scrum, and TDD practices \nBDD frameworks using Gherkin \nPlaywright CLI tooling (test runner, codegen, trace and report viewers) \nREST API testing with Insomnia or comparable tools \nScripting with PowerShell \nWorking knowledge of C#/.NET sufficient to read application code \nComputer science fundamentals, object-oriented concepts, and design patterns \nFamiliarity with Azure \nThe Stack Context \nTest automation: Playwright + TypeScript (migrating from Selenium) \nApplication: primarily .NET/C# backend services with web front ends \nData: PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server as the primary relational stores \nCI/CD: Azure DevOps YAML pipelines; workloads run across AWS and Azure, depending on product line \nAI tooling: agentic coding assistants (e.g. Claude Code, Copilot) in active pilot across engineering \nWhy This Role \nAs a Software Engineer in Test 3 at Mitratech, you'll help ensure the quality of software that shapes our customers and the legal tech industry.
