This is an opportunity for experienced platform engineers who are highly motivated, innovative, and proactive and interested in owning and maintaining their work to enable the rest of MITRE and sponsors.\nRoles & Responsibilities:\nWe are seeking a Jr Systems Administrator to join a secure, compliant enterprise platform team, delivering infrastructure for mission-critical workloads.\nThis role sits at the front of the platform lifecycle, combining technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities. The engineer will support customer onboarding, solution scoping, and delivery of compute environments aligned with security and compliance requirements.\nThis is a high-impact role requiring both technical depth and clear communication with customers and internal teams.\nHandle tier 1 support inquiries (tickets) from our internal customers.\nAssist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems.\nPerform routine system updates, patches, and upgrades.\nMonitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.\nAssist in managing and troubleshooting desktops, servers and network devices.\nCollaborate with senior administrators on projects.\nProvide technical support to end-users by troubleshooting hardware and software problems.\nAssist in setting up and configuring system builds for users, projects and labs.\nMaintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement technology solutions that support business objectives.\nAssist in evaluating and recommending IT hardware and software purchases.\nBasic Qualifications:\nTypically requires less than 1 year of related experience with a related Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience .\nFamiliarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.\nStrong understanding of computer systems, networking, and IT infrastructure.\nBasic knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).\nBasic understanding of Ansible, Puppet or other configuration management tools a plus.\nProficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.\nThis position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCustomer service experience a plus.\nStrong written communication skills.\nAbility to work well in a team and independently.\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\nEagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.\nAny relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Associate) is a plus.\nThis requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):\nNoneThis requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):\nNot ApplicableSalary compensation range and midpoint:\n$79,200 - $99,000 - $118,800 AnnualWork Location Type:\nOnsiteIt is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment.
