PNT systems, such as GPS, atomic clocks, and inertial guidance, provide vital services to humanity in a wide array of fields, including emergency services, power grids, trade, and more. This entry-level position for an engineer or physicist with a desire to learn at a world respected PNT leader can be the first step on your PNT journey. Come join us at MITRE, a not-for-profit company dedicated to solving problems for a safer world.\nTypical projects include:\nPerforming detailed modeling and simulation of navigation system performance\nPrototyping waveforms or algorithms in software defined radios\nTesting and evaluating leading edge hardware in PNT, both in the lab and in the field\nRoles & Responsibilities:\nModeling, simulation, and analysis of PNT technologies\nTesting of PNT technologies and data analysis of experimental results\nPlay a key technical role on one or more projects within MITRE’s existing PNT work program\nBasic Qualifications:\nTypically requires less than 1 year of related experience with a related Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience\nCurrently pursuing (or recently received) a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or similar fields\nExperience with MATLAB, Python, C++, or other modeling and data analysis software tools\nAbility to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance\nPer the U.S. Government’s eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance\nStrong technical background with experience in technologies related to PNT such as:detection and estimation theory\nwaveform design, modulation theory, error control coding, information theory\nstochastic processes, propagation, channel estimation and equalization\nreceiver design, interference cancellation, algorithm development\nguidance, navigation, and control (GNC)\n\nThis position requires a minimum of 3 days on site each week.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAdvanced degree (MS, PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or similar fields.\nExperience with data analysis, and field or lab testing equipment\nExperience using software development tools like Docker and Git\nExperience with laboratory testing and experimentation and working with and programming software defined radios (SDRs) using C/C++ or GNURadio\nExperience developing technical reports, presentations, and/or code\nAbility to obtain a Top Secret or higher clearance\nThis requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):\nSecretThis requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):\nNoneSalary compensation range and midpoint:\n$89,200 - $111,500 - $133,800 AnnualWork Location Type:\nOnsiteIt is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment.
