Among our many work programs are large programs in GPS, navigation, timing, and communications. MITRE has a long and distinguished history in these fields including our contributions to the design of new GPS signals, the development of software radio GPS receivers, the development of novel satellite navigation receivers, the development of tools and techniques to support low probability of intercept communications, and algorithms and techniques used to reduce interference for receivers. Some highlights of our work in Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) can be found here.\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nMITRE’s Communications, SIGINT, and PNT department is looking for talented mathematicians and applied mathematicians who are interested in joining our team and leveraging their strong mathematics background to help solve important problems in electrical engineering. In this position, you will apply your technical expertise towards furthering the public good by developing, applying, and evaluating state-of-the art navigation and communication technologies, such as:\nState of the art signal processing algorithms for navigation and communication systems (radio navigation, wireless communications, vision navigation, etc.)\nNext generation signals for communications, satellite, and radio navigation\nTechniques for detecting, locating, and identifying signals\nBasic Qualifications:\nRequires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.\nExperience with MATLAB, Python, C++, or other modeling and data analysis software tools\nDesire to apply a strong math background to real-world applications and to develop skills in communications, navigation, and timing\nAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance\nPer the U.S. Government’s eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.\nThis position requires a minimum of 3 days on site each week.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPhD in mathematics, applied mathematics, or a related discipline\nExperience with applying theory to real world applications\nExcellent communication, presentation, and writing skills\nThe ability to build collaborative and mutually beneficial working relationships with people of different backgrounds\nThis requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):\nNoneThis requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):\nSecretSalary compensation range and midpoint:\n$126,800 - $158,500 - $190,200 AnnualWork Location Type:\nOnsiteIt is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment.
