This is an opportunity for experienced platform engineers who are highly motivated, innovative, and proactive and interested in owning and maintaining their work to enable the rest of MITRE and sponsors.\nRoles & Responsibilities:\n\nWe are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join a secure, compliant enterprise platform team, delivering infrastructure for mission-critical workloads.\nThis role sits at the front of the platform lifecycle, combining technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities. The engineer will support customer onboarding, solution scoping, and delivery of compute environments aligned with security and compliance requirements.\nThis is a high-impact role requiring both technical depth and clear communication with customers and internal teams.\nCustomer Engagement, Solution Delivery & Onboarding\n\nParticipate in customer discussions to understand needs and requirements\nTranslate requirements into clear, build-ready specifications\nProvide guidance on access, usage, and expectations\nIdentify risks, dependencies, and gaps early in the process\nManage multiple efforts with strong follow-through\nStandardize documentation and communication where possible\nTechnical Coordination\n\nAct as the bridge between customers and engineering teams\nEnsure requirements are clearly communicated to build teams\nIdentify and resolve gaps between requested and delivered configurations\nCoordinate with Security, Networking, and Infrastructure teams\nSupport troubleshooting across Windows, virtualization, networking, storage, and security.\nBasic Qualifications:\n Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.\nStrong experience with Windows systems engineering (primary requirement)\nExperience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Server/Windows client.\nWorking knowledge of infrastructure domains (networking, virtualization, storage, security)\nAbility to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently\nPowerShell/scripting or other automation experience.\nExperience working across multiple teams\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to manage multiple workstreams with attention to detail\nMust be able to lift 50 lbs\nMust be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S Government issued Security Clearance.
