A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.Job Overview:\nMUFG is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Database Engineer as part of the Security Engineering team to design and implement cutting-edge technology to improve the security posture. This is a senior role that drives security data engineering standards and implementation across global deployment.\nResponsibilities:\nArchitect, build and maintain high-volume, high-fidelity security data modeling in Snowflake system for detection engineering and threat hunting use cases\nLead the ingestion, normalization, enrichment, and correlation of raw security telemetry, including logs, events, metrics, alerts, config, scanning and other data types\nDefine and enforce data standards, schemas, and normalization frameworks across security data sources.\nLeverage SQL, Python, PowerBI and other interfaces in Snowflake to design the right solution for data analytics, including reporting and other metrics.\nPartner with Security Operations, Threat detection, GRC and other engineering teams to translate security requirements into scalable data solutions.\nServe as a technical authority and mentor, influencing data engineering, security analytics and platform strategy.\nDrive continuous improvement in data reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.\nManage Data Governance with various reporting and quality checks.\nResearch and look for opportunities to adopt the best practices and industry standards\nIdentify opportunities to enhance the current baseline processes and configuration\nProduce engineering, integration and process related documentation.\nManage vendor relationships to drive roadmap, solution design, implementation and troubleshooting\nAble to conduct the POC of new features to develop new solutions\nQualifications: \nAt least 10+ years of experience in database engineering with significant focus on security data (logs, scanning, configuration, vulnerability, etc.), analytics, detection and platform engineering.\n8+ years of hands-on experience with various databases including Snowflake, relational (SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.), no-SQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.)\nAt least 2+ years of experience with data warehouses and data lakesSnowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Synapse\n\nAt least 1+ years of experience with reporting tools such PowerBI, Tableau, etc.\nFamiliarity with SIEM products such as Splunk, Cribl, Elastic, Datadog, AWS CloudTrail, cloud watch, Azure event hub, AWS S3, etc.\nFamiliarity with streaming platforms like Cribl, Kafka, Kinesis, etc.\nSolid knowledge of ETL/ELT pipelines and data ingestion processes\nStrong programming skills in Python, SQL and/or Java/Scala and JavaScript\nExperience with data modeling, data normalization and schema design\nAbility to understand, clean, and transform raw data into structure, usable formats\nExperience working with large-scale datasets (batch and streaming)\nExperience in analyzing raw data and performing data normalization.\nImplementing data validation, quality checks and error handling\nUnderstanding of data governance and metadata management\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills\nMust have working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies.Anthropic, ChatGPT, Gemini, Co-Pilot, etc.\n\nExperience with real-time analytics\nFamiliarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)\nKnowledge of data privacy, compliance and security best practices\nFamiliar with data standards such as OCSF, OTEL, etc.\nFamiliar with industry security regulations and frameworks (MITRE Attack Framework, CRI, etc.)\nExperience with at least one major cloud providerAWS, Azure or Google\n\nPreferred Certifications: \nCertified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)\nCertified Information Systems Manager (CISM)\nCertified Information System Auditor (CISA)\nCertified Ethical Hacker (CEH)\nOther Qualifications: \nAs per MUFG’s Return to Office policy, a candidate must work onsite for 4 days and 1 day remotely out of either Jersey City, NJ, Tampa, FL, or Tempe, AZ office.\nEducation:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience\nVisa sponsorship/support is based on business needs.
