Founded by two UC Berkeley entrepreneurs named to Inc.’s 30 Under 30, Mixbook has been featured on the Today Show, Good Morning America, TechCrunch, The Verge, The Washington Post, The New York Times, and more.\nToday, Mixbook is a global team building thoughtful, beautifully crafted products at scale - and we’re just getting started.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead end-to-end design of AI-powered creation features, from discovery and UX strategy through polished, dev-ready UI.\nPlan and run user research and turn insights into recommendations, using AI tools for rapid synthesis while checking findings against source data.\nDesign for unpredictable AI output: generation states, multiple results, regeneration, partial success, and graceful failure, with controls that keep users in charge.\nBuild trust through transparency and responsible AI practices, including privacy of personal photos and fair representation in generated content.\nDeliver responsive UI and code-based prototypes across web and iOS, and contribute reusable AI interaction patterns to the design system.\nPartner closely with product managers, engineers, and designers, and document decisions so the team can carry the work forward after the engagement.\nWhat You'll Need\n8-10 years in UX/UI or product design, with a portfolio showing end-to-end work and shipped AI-powered features, including process, trade-offs, and outcomes.\nFluency with AI design tools (such as Figma Make, Claude, Cursor, etc.), the judgment to know when not to rely on them, and the ability to prototype with real model output.\nExperience designing generative or AI-assisted creative tools, and a strong understanding of how LLM-based systems behave: non-deterministic output, latency, and error modes.\nStrong interaction and visual design craft, including accessibility (WCAG), responsive design, and native iOS conventions.\nClear async writing and presentation skills, and the ability to work independently and drive decisions with cross-functional partners.\nDegree in Design, HCI, Psychology, or equivalent practical experience.\nCompany Mission\nOur mission is to empower people to be creative and connect deeply with the ones they love.
