This is a midlevel, hands-on engineering role focused on reliable operations, timely issue resolution, and disciplined execution of maintenance and lifecycle activities.\nThis role supports enterprise storage and backup platforms including NetApp, HPE Alletra, Pure Storage, Dell PowerStore, IBM Storwize / FlashSystem, SAN/NAS technologies, and Rubrik. You will troubleshoot operational issues, assist with root cause analysis, perform routine administration, support code and firmware upgrades, and help maintain recovery readiness across the environment.\nThe ideal candidate has strong infrastructure fundamentals, practical experience in storage and backup operations, and the ability to work collaboratively with senior engineers, application teams, virtualization teams, network teams, and infrastructure stakeholders.\nKey Responsibilities\nIncident Remediation & Operational Support\nSupport remediation of storage and backup incidents including outages, degraded performance, failed backups, replication issues, and data access issues\nParticipate in incident bridges and assist with troubleshooting across storage, backup, compute, virtualization, network, and application teams\nPerform initial triage, evidence gathering, log review, and escalation for production-impacting issues\nAssist with root cause analysis and document corrective actions to reduce repeat incidents\nMonitor platform health and respond to alerts, failed jobs, capacity thresholds, and service-impacting conditions\nMaintain and follow operational runbooks, escalation paths, and recovery procedures\nStorage Platform Operations\nAdminister and support storage platforms including NetApp ONTAP, Pure Storage FlashArray, Dell PowerStore, HPE Allatra, and IBM Storwize / FlashSystem\nPerform routine storage provisioning, volume and LUN management, capacity expansion, mapping, masking, and decommissioning activities\nSupport NAS services including CIFS/SMB shares, NFS exports, permissions coordination, and access troubleshooting\nAssist with replication, availability, and resiliency activities across supported storage platforms\nReview capacity, performance, and health metrics to identify risks and support proactive remediation\nSAN/NAS Operations\nSupport SAN and NAS connectivity across enterprise infrastructure environments\nAssist with Fibre Channel zoning, host connectivity, multipathing validation, and storage presentation troubleshooting\nWork with compute, virtualization, and network teams to resolve connectivity, latency, pathing, and access issues\nMaintain operational standards for storage provisioning, naming, documentation, and configuration hygiene\nBackup & Recovery Operations\nAdminister and support enterprise backup and recovery operations with a focus on Rubrik\nInvestigate and remediate failed backups, missed SLAs, replication issues, policy gaps, and restore failures\nSupport backup policy configuration, retention management, workload onboarding, and operational reporting\nPerform restore testing and assist with validation of recovery procedures\nContribute to backup reliability, cyber recovery readiness, and disaster recovery preparedness\nUpgrade & Lifecycle Execution\nSupport lifecycle management for storage and backup platforms including software upgrades, firmware updates, hardware refreshes, and platform maintenance\nAssist with planning, testing, scheduling, execution, and validation of storage and backup upgrade activities\nFollow documented implementation plans, pre-checks, post-checks, and rollback procedures\nTrack platform versions, support status, known issues, and remediation needs across supported technologies\nCoordinate with vendors and senior engineers during maintenance windows, escalations, and lifecycle events\nDocumentation, Monitoring & Operational Hygiene\nMaintain accurate documentation for storage allocations, backup policies, platform configurations, operational procedures, and support contacts\nSupport CMDB accuracy and relationship mapping for storage, backup, host, and application dependencies\nImprove monitoring, alert response, capacity reporting, and health-check procedures\nIdentify opportunities to standardize repeatable tasks and reduce manual operational effort\nAssist with scripting or automation using PowerShell, Python, vendor APIs, or automation platforms where appropriate\nDisaster Recovery & Resiliency Support\nSupport disaster recovery and business continuity testing for storage and backup services\nValidate backup recoverability, replication status, and recovery procedure readiness\nAssist with documenting recovery dependencies, platform risks, and remediation actions\nParticipate in post-test reviews and operational improvement activities\nRequired Qualifications\n3+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience with exposure to storage, backup, virtualization, or data center operations\nHands-on experience supporting SAN/NAS storage platforms in production environments\nWorking knowledge of NetApp, HPE Alletra, Pure Storage, Dell PowerStore, IBM Storwize / FlashSystem, or similar enterprise storage platforms\nExperience with enterprise backup operations; Rubrik experience preferred\nUnderstanding of Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, SMB/CIFS, LUNs, volumes, multipathing, replication, and capacity management concepts\nExperience participating in incident response, operational troubleshooting, and change execution\nAbility to follow documented procedures, communicate status clearly, and escalate issues appropriately\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working with VMware vSphere or similar virtualization platforms\nFamiliarity with Cisco SAN switching, zoning, and fabric troubleshooting\nExposure to storage replication technologies such as SnapMirror, ActiveCluster, MetroCluster, or equivalent capabilities\nExperience with ITSM processes including incident, problem, change, and request management\nScripting or automation experience using PowerShell, Python, REST APIs, or similar tools\nExperience working in financial services or other regulated enterprise environments\nRelevant certifications from NetApp, Pure Storage, Dell, IBM, Rubrik, VMware, or Cisco\nSuccess Measures\nTimely remediation and escalation of storage and backup incidents\nImproved backup success rates and restore validation outcomes\nSuccessful support of upgrade, patching, and maintenance activities\nReduction in repeat incidents through documentation and corrective actions\nImproved capacity visibility, platform health, and operational documentation\nConsistent adherence to change, incident, and operational standards\nThe expected base salary ranges from $82,000 - $125,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
