A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Materials Supervisor at MKS Inc., you will report directly to the Sr. Materials Supervisor and will be responsible for leading inbound and internal material flow activities across the warehouse. This role oversees receiving, kitting, inventory operations, and inventory control functions to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient material availability in support of production and customer requirements.
You will partner closely with Production, Planning, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to maintain inventory accuracy, execute standard work, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the distribution and warehouse environment. You will also support daily operational execution across multiple functional areas, helping drive performance aligned to safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Lead inbound warehouse and material flow operations across receiving and kitting
- Ensure accurate and timely material receipt, transactions, and availability
- Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counts, issue resolution, and corrective actions
- Establish and enforce standard work, safety practices, and warehouse procedures
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Planning, Production, Quality, and Procurement
- Coach and develop team members to drive performance and accountability
- Monitor performance using KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Escalate operational risks and support resolution with leadership
Skills You Bring (Required Skills):
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Prior experience leading or supervising teams in a distribution or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of receiving, inventory control, and kitting processes
- Experience working in an ERP/MRP system (Oracle preferred)
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment
Preferred Skills:
- CPIM and/or APICS certification
- Experience in a multi-site or multi-team warehouse environment
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience
- Prior experience supporting production or manufacturing operations
- Ability to analyze inventory and operational data to drive corrective actions
- Experience developing standard work, training materials, and process documentation
- Exposure to warehouse layout, material flow optimization, or space utilization initiatives
Supervisory Scope:
- Reporting Relationships: Reports to Sr. Materials Supervisor
- Direct Reports: Material Handlers across multiple site
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required
- Standing, walking, and operating in a warehouse environment for extended periods
- Working conditions may include minimal climate control and varying noise levels
- Overtime or weekend work may be required to support operational needs
- Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat
- Responsible for supporting operations across two different shifts, with flexibility to adjust or change shifts as business needs require
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Range: $71,025 - 118374 annually is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
