Team members are empowered to solve complex challenges, contribute to meaningful projects, and grow professionally while supporting critical infrastructure that powers today's connected world.\nCritical Operations Engineer II\nLocation: Data Center Environment\nShift: Swing Shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM), Tuesday-Saturday\nCompensation: $43.00 - $47.00/hour\nRelocation Assistance: Available for qualified candidates\nPosition Overview\nThe Critical Operations Engineer II is responsible for maintaining the operational integrity, reliability, and compliance of data center electrical, mechanical, fire life safety, and communications infrastructure systems. This role supports maximum uptime by performing preventative maintenance, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring critical facility systems operate efficiently and effectively.\nThe ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting mission-critical environments, including data centers, hospitals, power plants, or similar critical facilities.\nKey Responsibilities\nServe as a subject matter expert for electrical, mechanical, controls, and fire life safety systems.\nOperate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot critical facility infrastructure.\nPerform trend analysis and monitoring of operational systems.\nMentor and support junior operations staff.\nCoordinate preventative and predictive maintenance activities.\nManage and support customer-impacting infrastructure projects.\nMaintain operational efficiency while minimizing downtime and costs.\nSupport physical security and facility monitoring activities.\nManage trouble tickets, work orders, and maintenance documentation.\nCoordinate contractors and vendors performing site work.\nSupport cage build-outs, rack and stack activities, cabling projects, and overhead installations.\nPerform incident response, escalation, and reporting.\nUtilize CMMS systems for asset management and maintenance tracking.\nConduct regular facility inspections and security tours.\nEnsure compliance with operational procedures, safety standards, and industry regulations.\nRequired Qualifications\nTechnical Knowledge\nExpert understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in critical facilities.\nExperience with generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS equipment, transformers, PLCs, chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH systems, and fire suppression systems.\nKnowledge of NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and related safety standards.\nExperience with monitoring, trending, and critical facility control systems.\nStrong understanding of structured cabling and fiber infrastructure.\nExperience\n5-7+ years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting large-scale industrial or commercial mechanical and electrical systems.\nExperience supporting critical facilities such as data centers, hospitals, utility operations, or power generation facilities.\nProven experience with fiber and copper cabling installation and termination.\nExperience supporting servers, network equipment, and IT infrastructure.\nDemonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.\nMinimum of 5 years in a critical facilities mechanical or electrical operations role.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to stand, walk, climb, crouch, crawl, and work in active mechanical and electrical environments.\nComfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.\nAbility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and participate in on-call rotations as needed.\nCompensation & Benefits\nIn addition to a competitive hourly rate, this position offers a comprehensive benefits package that may include:\nMedical, dental, and vision insurance\n401(k) with company matching\nPaid time off and paid holidays\nBonus opportunities\nEmployee stock purchase options\nTuition and professional development reimbursement\nWellness programs and incentives\nEmployee assistance programs\nLife and disability insurance\nEmployee discounts and additional voluntary benefits\nAdditional Information\nCandidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
