Please take a moment to browse through our website and learn more about what it means to serve with MKS2.\nRuby Developer\nLocation: Remote (U.S.)\nSalary: $130,000 - $140,000 annually\nClearance: Public Trust Eligibility \nSummary\nThe Ruby Developer will be part of a technical team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining APIs that enable communication between different software systems. The ideal candidate is a strong Ruby engineer with hands-on development experience and the ability to contribute production-grade code.\nResponsibilities\nDesign and develop APIs, including specifications, endpoints, data models, and protocols such as REST and GraphQL.\nContribute production-grade code for core services.\nPartner with the Technical Lead to conduct code reviews and ensure code quality, maintainability, and security.\nWork closely with the Engineering Crew Lead and API Architect to review solution design and deliver robust, scalable solutions.\nEnsure seamless integration of APIs with internal systems, external applications, and third-party services.\nPromote effective use of AI-enabled tools in the API development lifecycle to improve productivity and code quality.\nCreate and maintain clear, comprehensive API documentation for consumers, including usage guidance and best practices.\nImplement and uphold security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and encryption.\nInterface with external engineering teams to ensure alignment on technical standards, governance requirements, compliance obligations, and ongoing cATO maintenance.\nMonitor and optimize API performance, reliability, and scalability.\nManage API versioning and support backward compatibility as services evolve.\nProvide ongoing support, troubleshoot production issues, and implement enhancements based on stakeholder feedback.\nParticipate in Tier 1 and Tier 2 on-call operations.\nQualifications & Skills\n6+ years of strong Ruby on Rails experience.\nExperience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.\nExperience with the RSpec testing framework.\nStrong experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs.\nAbility to lead engineering teams while remaining hands-on with development.\nDesirable Skills\nFamiliarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.\nFamiliarity with application security principles and secure development practices.\nFamiliarity with Git version control.\nFamiliarity with OAuth.\nExperience with async job processing tools such as Sidekiq.\nExperience with Spring Boot / Java.\nDiversity
