The role requires strong software development and system-integration capabilities, practical experience with AWS technologies, and the ability to incorporate AI-enabled functionality where appropriate. Success requires sound analytical and problem-solving skills, familiarity with the software development lifecycle, and the flexibility to quickly learn and apply new programming languages, tools, and technical approaches as mission needs evolve.\nWork Location: On-site in Dahlgren, VA.\nBasic Required Qualifications and Skills: \nBachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, data science, computer engineering, or a related technical field.\n3+ years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, application development, data engineering, or a related technical discipline, including hands-on software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience.\n1+ years of experience with:\nDeveloping ETL workflows and data transformation processes.\nSoftware development supporting data engineering and system integration.\nAWS cloud technologies\nAI integration into data solutions or applications.\nExperience using diverse languages or scripting tools, including R and Ruby.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to adapt to unfamiliar tools, programming languages, and technical tasks quickly.\nWillingness to work in a dynamic environment where priorities and technical requirements may shift\nAbility to meet DoD 8140.03 requirements for the applicable work role, Database Administrator (Intermediate) or equivalent.\nAbility to obtain and developing, testing, and maintaining reliable software applications and data-processing solutions.\nHands-on AWS delivery experience using services such as Lambda, S3, EC2, IAM, CloudWatch, and infrastructure-as-code tools to deploy, monitor, and support cloud-based applications and data workloads.\nHands-on Kubernetes delivery experience deploying, configuring, scaling, and troubleshooting containerized applications, including working with clusters, pods, deployments, services, configuration, and application logs.\nProduction data-engineering experience, including operating pipelines or ETL workflows in a live environment.\nHands-on experience with AWS through professional, academic, personal, or laboratory projects.\nExperience with additional languages and tools, such as R or Ruby, beyond the core development stack.\nAI integration exposure, including incorporating AI capabilities into data workflows or applications\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:This position will include, but is not limited to, the following tasks:\nBuild and optimize ETL processes that ingest, transform, validate, and deliver data for mission use.\nDevelop software components that support data engineering, automation, integration, and operational requirements.\nUse AWS services to develop, deploy, and support cloud-based data solutions.\nIntegrate AI capabilities into data workflows and applications when required.\nDiagnose technical issues, improve performance and reliability, and solve novel data challenges.\nRapidly learn and use new programming languages, frameworks, and tools, including languages such as R and Ruby when needed.\nWork effectively in a fast-changing environment involving ambiguity, evolving requirements, shifting priorities, and non -routine technical challenges.\nTake initiative, transition between tools and programming languages with minimal ramp-up, and apply sound engineering judgment to new mission problems.\nOther duties as
