We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our dynamic team in Ottawa.\nWhat will you be doing?\nAs the Project Engineer, you will be responsible for R&D product development programs both internal and those deliverable to MMIST’s customers. You will be involved in plan/schedule development, risk mitigation, scope management, estimation, project costs, roadmaps, resources allocation and project deliverables. You will coordinate across functional development teams to plan, direct, and manage the delivery of technically complex projects.\nOversee multiple projects, ensuring successful delivery aligned with contractual obligations or internal objectives.\nDevelop and maintain comprehensive project plans, covering scope, schedule, critical paths, and resource allocation.\nServe as the primary technical contact for customers during program development.\nCollaborate with subject matter experts, senior management, and engineering teams to execute the project plan, ensuring it stays on budget, meets deadlines, and fulfills contractual requirements.\nPrepare project management bids for development initiatives.\nCreate the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and coordinate bid inputs from the entire engineering team.\nSupport schedule creation and cost estimation, providing backup data as needed.\nTrack, report, and analyze earned value metrics to assess project performance.\nRecommend staffing or schedule adjustments based on performance metrics.\nLead or support proposal efforts, coordinating inputs from various project engineers.\nUnderstand how individual projects fit within broader development efforts, and define strategic plans to maximize company-wide investments.\nCollaborate with the engineering teams to identify process improvements and update documentation.\nAssist product managers in coordinating with engineering teams to ensure timely execution of tasks.\nSupport the finance team with project reporting and analysis.\nWork with the quality team to address audit findings and identify opportunities for improvement.\nLiaise with subcontractors on outsourcing and manufacturing decisions as necessary.\nLead integration activities related to gap assessments and reporting.\nWhat do we need from you?\nBachelor's degree in a relevant field (Aerospace, Engineering etc), Military Experience, or equivalent; \nCertified Project Management Professional (PMP, Prince2 etc)\nExperience in an engineering electro-mechanical product setting \nExperience with ISO 9001:2000 and/or AS9100\nAbility to drive projects forward despite ambiguity\nWilling to travel 10-15%.\nCompliance Statement\nThis position may require exposure to export-controlled information and is subject to additional security screening.
