You’ll work in an environment with a high level of ownership, fast feedback loops, continuous deployment, and plenty of room to shape both the technology and the product.\n\nThis is not a role where everything is already defined. You’ll work with real ambiguity, help shape evolving architecture, make decisions with incomplete information, and collaborate closely with domain experts and other engineers.\n\nWhat we’re looking for:\n\nWe need an engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of complex problems, making pragmatic technical decisions, and working in a product environment where both the codebase and the domain are continuously evolving.\n\nThe ideal candidate:\n\nthinks beyond implementation;\n\nis comfortable making decisions with incomplete information;\n\nunderstands scalability, reliability, security and business impact;\n\nhas strong opinions about writing high-quality, typed Python;\n\nenjoys system design and building well-structured APIs;\n\nuses AI tools as a serious part of their engineering workflow while applying independent judgment;\n\nis comfortable working in a collaborative, low-ego environment.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nDesign, develop and maintain scalable backend services using Python.\n\nDesign and implement domain services using Domain-Driven Design principles.\n\nBuild performant, secure and fault-tolerant serverless solutions on AWS.\n\nWork closely with subject matter experts to translate business requirements into technical solutions.\n\nParticipate in architectural and technology decisions at both project and company level.\n\nDesign and maintain idiomatic APIs and service boundaries.\n\nWork with data modelling and SQL to support data-driven decision-making.\n\nContribute to infrastructure-as-code and cloud engineering practices.\n\nTroubleshoot and improve production systems.\n\nWork with AI coding tools and model-backed product features.\n\nMentor other engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.\n\nWork in an Extreme Programming environment with TDD, continuous deployment and fast feedback loops.\n\nRequirements:\n\nStrong commercial experience with Python.\n\nExperience building and running production services on AWS.\n\nHands-on experience with AWS Lambda and DynamoDB.\n\nExperience with event-driven AWS services such as EventBridge and/or Step Functions.\n\nStrong understanding of typed Python and experience with Pydantic or similar approaches.\n\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.\n\nStrong SQL and data modelling skills.\n\nExperience designing scalable backend systems and APIs.\n\nStrong understanding of software architecture and system design principles.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\n\nExperience working with AI coding tools in a professional engineering environment.\n\nAdvanced English.\n\nNice to have:\n\nExperience in FinTech, lending or credit.\n\nExperience with open banking data.\n\nExperience with Snowflake or similar data platforms.\n\nExperience with evolutionary architecture.\n\nExperience designing eventually consistent systems.\n\nExperience with domain-driven design.\n\nExperience with event-driven and serverless
