Do the right thing, every time.\nJob Summary: We're looking for a developer to support our dealership management system (DMS) team in building automations, integrations, and reporting that keep our service, parts, and sales operations running smoothly. A key initiative is developing and maintaining modern web applications that complement our core system and transitioning existing Excel VBA tools into the same stack, incl. moving their data access from direct SQL queries to APIs. You'll work closely with the Sr. Business Systems Manager to design, test, and maintain SQL-based processes, support the administration of our Excede (Procede) environment, and turn business requirements from dealership staff into reliable technical solutions. views, stored procedures, and scheduled jobs that automate DMS workflows.\nAnalyze existing Excel VBA tools to document their logic, data sources, and business rules, then rebuild them as web applications.\nMigrate data access from direct SQL queries to API-based integrations, working with DMS APIs and building or consuming internal APIs as needed.\nTroubleshoot and debug existing SQL logic, with careful attention to edge cases and conditional branches, and document fixes clearly.\nSupport Excede (Procede) administration, including security workspaces, user permissions, and data exports.\nBuild Python scripts and utilities for data extraction, transformation, and Windows/Office automation.\nAnalyze DMS data exports and produce clear reports and workbooks for stakeholders.\nTranslate requirements from service, parts, and sales departments into technical specs, and adapt to scope changes directed by project sponsors.\nMaintain documentation, including process and lifecycle diagrams, for the systems you build or change.\nWork in local and test environments before promoting changes to production.\nUse Claude Code as part of day-to-day development, including drafting SQL and Python, debugging, and refactoring, while reviewing and testing all AI-generated changes before they reach production.\nWhat We're Looking For\n Required:\n[2-4]+ years of hands-on SQL Server / T-SQL development, including views, stored procedures, and complex logic.\nWorking proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.\nExperience building web applications, including working with REST APIs.\nAbility to read and understand existing VBA code well enough to reverse-engineer its behavior.\nStrong debugging habits and a methodical approach to testing changes incrementally.\nAbility to explain technical reasoning clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues.\nComfort working with challenging real-world data (CSV exports, legacy schemas).\n Preferred:\nExperience with a dealership management system, ideally Procede’s Excede, or with other automotive/RV/heavy-truck DMS platforms.\nFamiliarity with dealership operations (service orders, sublet, parts, F&I).\nExperience with a web stack such as [e.g., Python/Flask or FastAPI, .NET, or JavaScript/React].\nExperience designing or securing APIs (authentication, permissions, error handling).\nBackground in migrating legacy desktop or spreadsheet tools to web platforms.\nExperience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, and good judgment about when to trust, verify, or rewrite their output.\nExperience with Excel automation, COM/pywin32, or Office integrations.\nExposure to Docker, Git, and VS Code.\nPay
