If you are a natural leader who thrives on navigating complex regulatory changes, developing talent, and optimizing investigative workflows, this role is for you.\nYour mission:\nWise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Our customers can also manage their hard-earned money with the world’s first platform to offer true multi-currency banking.\nWe’re looking for a Sanctions Team Lead to join our newly established Sanctions team.\nThe main purpose of the team is to screen Wise customers against sanctioned entities and carry out complex investigations on the alerts.\nHere’s how you’ll be contributing to the Sanctions Screening team:\nHire, lead, develop and manage a Sanctions team, including amongst others administrative tasks such as scheduling, interviewing, organising team activities etc.\n\nMeasure team's KPIs, plan capacity and maintain focus on customer experience; as well as taking ownership of various projects\n\nDevelop effective operational processes, task allocation, training and performance management to deliver a great customer experience with a tightly managed cost base\n\nCollaborate with Wise’s Quality team to maintain a high quality of sanctions checks that were performed by the team\n\nTake decisions within our policy framework and working with compliance to evolve both our policies and processes\n\nUnderstand and manage training the team on our regulatory obligations, how our policies fulfil them and our risk-based approach to deterring and preventing money laundering and financial crime\n\nAble to represent the policies, processes and auditable screening work to regulators and auditors\n\nWork with third party management, outsourcing partners, product teams, customer support and across compliance to manage operational impact of changes and identify opportunities to improve the customer experience, increase automation or improve operational efficiencies.\n\nQualifications\nAbout you:\nYou’re legally authorised to work in Sao Paulo, Brazil.\n\nYou have management experience in operations or compliance.\n\nYou have previous work experience in the financial sector, compliance or similar (that has given you strong compliance knowledge and a good understanding of the relevant regulatory landscape); Sanctions experience is a big plus;\n\nYou can multitask and take charge in different situations\n\nYou have the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally\n\nYou have great communication and presentations skills to assist on internal and external projects and audits\n\nYou have a good understanding of the team’s metrics and ability to analyse and move them\n\nYou have a proven track record of taking ownership as well as being a great team-player\n\nYou are familiar with reading legal and regulatory documents, formulating strategy to make informed decisions, and successfully execute plans\n\nYou are able to persevere in a fast paced environment\n\nNice to have:\n Certified in ABRACAM (ABT1)\nAdditional Information\n*Please note, only resumes provided in English will be considered*\nOur Benefits:\nRSU’s in a rapidly growing company\nFlexible working model\nAn annual self-development budget\nHealth and dental allowance for you and your dependents\nCompany-paid: Life Insurance, and an EAP program\nPaid time off: 30 days vacation + 3 “Me” days + 1 volunteer day, annually\nA paid 6-week sabbatical leave after four years\n8-weeks of paid parental leave, after a year with us and child care assistance\nTransportation vouchers\nFood (730 BRL per month) and meal (1,188 BRL per month) vouchers\n TotalPass access to 3,500 gyms and studios throughout Brazil\nFor everyone, everywhere.
