Working across global engineering teams and local partners, you will play a key role in supporting cutting-edge science and will have opportunities to work alongside rapidly evolving digital and Generative AI-enabled engineering tools that continue to transform maintenance, asset management, and operational decision-making.\nHere's What You’ll Do:\nProvide technical leadership and oversight of building infrastructure, utilities, and facility systems to ensure reliable delivery of services that meet operational requirements.\n\nEnsure all engineering systems and services remain compliant with environmental, health, safety, statutory, and GxP regulatory requirements.\n\nManage the technical performance of engineering service partners by setting expectations, monitoring delivery, identifying capability gaps, supporting training, and driving continuous performance improvements.\n\nLead the execution of maintenance and engineering activities across the site using a combination of internal teams and external service providers.\n\nDevelop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy using maintenance excellence principles, including maintenance plans, critical spare parts strategies, and asset reliability improvements.\n\nPartner with Global Maintenance and Engineering teams to implement maintenance strategies and develop robust maintenance job plans for all applicable systems.\n\nLead engineering and facility improvement initiatives while ensuring quality, safety, schedule, and budget objectives are consistently achieved.\n\nSupport major engineering initiatives including site shutdowns, capital projects, and engineering business process improvements.\n\nBuild strong relationships with facility stakeholders by maintaining clear communication, understanding operational needs, and identifying opportunities for improvement.\n\nChampion continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen facility performance and support Moderna's continued growth.\n\nFoster an inspection-ready culture by ensuring compliance activities, documentation, and regulatory requirements are completed accurately and on time.\n\nThe key Moderna Mindsets you'll need to succeed in the role:\nWe behave like owners. The solutions we’re building go beyond any job description.\nWe act with dynamic range, driving strategy and execution at the same time at every step.\nHere’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering (i.e. Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering) required. Master’s degree preferred.\n\nMinimum 8 years of Facilities and/or Engineering experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries required. GMP facility experience required.\n\nExcellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) are required. Expected to be able to present work to peers and cross-functional managers and influence leadership decisions. Technical writing skills required.\n\nMust be able use his/her technical background to investigate issues using a structured problem-solving approach to determine true root cause and develop effective corrective and preventative actions. Must be able to be able to find true root cause and path forward for complex problems. Demonstrates strategic enterprise thinking, finding innovative ways to deliver results and build trust.\n\nMust possess outstanding communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with enterprise-wide information systems for effective stakeholder management and communication.\n\nExperience utilizing a CMMS for the planning and execution of a maintenance program. Maximo-specific experience preferred.\n\nAbility to interact well with other groups and must be able to take ownership of and follow through on assignments.
