This role ensures adherence to U.S. Customs and Participating Government Agency (PGA) requirements while contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives. The position partners with internal teams and clients to resolve compliance issues and maintain accurate, compliant import/export activities.\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nEnsure compliant vetting of the client and timely establishment of the client record\nPrepare and support submission of post-entry filings in accordance with established procedures\nProcess powers of attorney (POA) and sub-POAs\nMaintain compliance documentation, policies, and procedures under guidance\nProcess and maintain continuous bonds and related updates\nFollow established processes to support U.S. Customs and PGA compliance requirements\nSupport internal teams with compliance-related requests and standard classification needs\nLearn and apply regulatory requirements under guidance\nInvestigate and resolve routine shipment, system, and compliance-related issues\nEscalate complex compliance issues, discrepancies, or regulatory concerns as needed\nAssist in reviewing Customs inquiries and supporting required responses\nIdentify and report process inefficiencies or recurring issues\nSupport troubleshooting of system or workflow issues\nParticipate in process improvement initiatives led by senior team members\nSupport new client onboarding by completing required compliance setup tasks\nPartner with internal teams to ensure consistent compliance processes\nAssist with corporate compliance projects and cross-office initiatives\nMaintain accurate and organized compliance records\nEnsure documentation is complete and submission-ready\nSupport audit preparation activities by gathering required documentation\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nBENCHMARKS FOR MEASURING SUCCESS:\nTimely support of new client onboarding by completing required compliance setup tasks\nEnsures proper client vetting through establishes government processes \nReduces compliance-related errors, rework, or penalties through proactive issue resolution\nSupports successful resolution of Customs inquiries and government agency audits\nContributes to process improvement initiatives that increase operational efficiency\nMaintains audit-ready documentation and adherence to internal compliance standards\nSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:\nTechnical Skills:Understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and import/export compliance\nProficiency in freight forwarding/compliance systems\n\nBusiness Skills:Strong attention to detail and accuracy\nProcess improvement and operational efficiency mindset\nAnalytical thinking and problem-solving\n\nRequired Qualifications:2-3 years of experience in international trade, freight forwarding, or similar industry\nWorking knowledge of U.S. Customs compliance procedures\nStrong communication and organizational skills\n\nPreferred Qualifications:Industry certifications (e.g., CCS, CES, LCB/CHB)\nExperience with PGA compliance requirements\n\nOFFICE / WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThis position operates in a professional office environment (and/or remotely from a home office) with a quiet to moderate noise level and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such computers, photocopying machines and storage/filing cabinets.
