Through strong client, supplier, and partner collaboration, this role helps maintain service excellence across the full supply chain lifecycle. By applying advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, the Senior Export Coordinator proactively resolves shipment issues, minimizes disruptions, and supports efficient freight movement across air, land, and sea. Their contribution directly strengthens customer trust, service reliability, and Mohawk’s overall export operations performance.\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nManage complex export shipments and key customer accounts while delivering exceptional service and responsiveness.\nProvide proactive shipment communication, reporting, and visibility from pickup through final delivery.\nPrepare competitive quotes, rates, and customer solutions that support growth and service excellence.\nBuild strong relationships with customers, carriers, agents, and partners to support retention and business development.\nIndependently coordinate air and ocean export shipments from initiation through final delivery.\nManage export documentation, routing instructions, shipment records, and CargoWise data integrity.\nExecute specialized shipment requirements including dangerous goods, carnets, letters of credit, certificates of origin, TSA, screening, perishables, and other complex regulatory requirements.\nSupport onboarding, SOP development, process consistency, and operational best practices across assigned accounts.\nInvestigate and resolve shipment, billing, documentation, and service-related issues.\nProactively identify risks and implement solutions to minimize service disruptions.\nApply sound judgment to manage complex operational challenges and customer situations.\nEscalate issues appropriately while maintaining ownership through resolution.\nPartner with customers, carriers, agents, and internal teams to support successful shipment execution.\nAssist Team Leads and Supervisors with onboarding, cross-training, and development of junior coordinators.\nActively participate in team meetings, coaching sessions, and operational improvement initiatives.\nShare knowledge, best practices, and operational expertise to strengthen team capability.\nPrepare accurate billing, invoices, and shipment file documentation.\nEnsure shipment records, customer data, and vendor information remain accurate and current.\nSupport billing integrity, accounts receivable follow-up, and operational reporting activities.\nContribute to profitability through accurate execution, cost awareness, and operational efficiency.\nServe as a senior operational resource and subject matter expert for export activities.\nSupport onboarding and development of less experienced coordinators through coaching and mentorship.\nAssist with creating and maintaining SOPs, work instructions, and account-specific processes.\nDemonstrate leadership coordinators.\nExpands expertise in specialized shipment requirements and advanced export operations.\nServes as a reliable operational resource for complex account and shipment needs.\nSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:\nTechnical Skills:\nAdvanced knowledge of air and ocean export operations, documentation, and freight forwarding processes.\nProficiency in CargoWise and freight forwarding systems.\nExperience with specialized shipment types including dangerous goods, carnets, TSA requirements, screenings, and other regulatory programs.\nStrong analytical and reporting skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.\nKnowledge of international logistics, supply chain operations, and customer-specific requirements.\nBusiness Skills:\nStrong customer service and relationship management skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication.\nAdvanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities.\nStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple across core export operations and shipment execution.\nStrong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.\nAbility to manage complex shipments and customer requirements independently.\nStrong attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCargoWise experience.\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, or a related field.\nKnowledge of international logistics and supply chain management.\nExperience with specialized shipment handling and regulatory requirements.\nOFFICE / WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThis position operates in a professional office environment (and/or remotely from a home office) with a quiet to moderate noise level and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such computers, photocopying machines and storage/filing cabinets.
