Whether you want to lead more, innovate more, learn more or create more, you can find your more with Mohawk.\nBoiler Technician\nJob Summary\nThe Industrial Plant Boiler Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of boiler systems and related utility equipment within an industrial manufacturing facility. This position monitors, maintains, and adjusts boilers, steam distribution systems, water treatment systems, and auxiliary equipment to ensure continuous plant operations while complying with safety, environmental, and operational standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nOperate and monitor industrial boilers, steam generation systems, and associated equipment.\n\nPerform routine inspections of boilers, pumps, valves, compressors, water treatment systems, and other utility equipment.\n\nMonitor operating parameters including pressure, temperature, water levels, fuel consumption, and steam output.\n\nStart up, shut down, and adjust boiler equipment as required to meet plant production demands.\n\nConduct water testing and chemical treatment procedures to maintain proper boiler water quality.\n\nTroubleshoot operational issues and take corrective action to minimize downtime.\n\nRespond to emergencies involving boilerand utility systems.\n\nPerform preventive maintenance activities and assist maintenance personnel during repairs and shutdowns.\n\nMaintain accurate operating logs, inspection records, and regulatory documentation.\n\nEnsure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, and company safety procedures.\n\nParticipate in safety programs, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nReport equipment deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.\n\nMaintain housekeeping standards in boiler rooms and utility areas.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\n\nIndustrial boiler operator license or certification preferred where required by state or local regulations.\n\nExperience operating high-pressure boiler systems in a manufacturing, industrial, or utility environment.\n\nKnowledge of steam systems, water treatment, pumps, valves, and process controls.\n\nUnderstanding of industrial safety practices and lockout/tagout procedures.\n\nAbility to read gauges, meters, blueprints, and equipment manuals.\n\nBasic computer skills for recordkeeping and maintenance reporting.\n\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nTechnical or vocational training in mechanical, industrial, or power plant operations.\nExperience with computerized control systems, PLCs, or DCS systems.\nKnowledge of natural gas, fuel oil, biomass, or coal-fired boiler systems.\n\nExperience in manufacturing environments such as chemical, food processing, paper, textile, or flooring production facilities.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.\n\nAbility to climb ladders, stairs, and work platforms.\n\nAbility to lift upto 50 pounds.\n\nAbility to work in hot, noisy, and industrial environments.\n\nAbility to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outsas required.\n\nKey Competencies\nSafety Awareness\n\nMechanical Aptitude\n\nAttention to Detail\n\nTroubleshooting and Problem Solving\n\nCommunication Skills\n\nReliability and Dependability\n\nTeamwork\n\nOperational Excellence\n\nMohawk Industries is a leading global flooring manufacturer that creates products to enhance residential and commercial spaces around the world.
