If this sounds outstanding to you, take the first step forward and explore a career with Dal-Tile.\nPrimary Objective:\nSupport environmental compliance, regulatory risk reduction, and operational execution across Dal-Tile operations, including manufacturing, customer service, sales, and distribution within the Ceramic North America business unit. Monitor site-level environmental compliance and recommend actions to ensure alignment with federal, state, and municipal environmental regulations.\nMajor Function and Scope:\nTRI Reporting\nPrepare and submit TRI reports across five states in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.\nMaintain chemical management system data by adding new chemicals and materials, updating inventories, and ensuring information remains accurate and current.\nWastewater\nPrepare and coordinate wastewater reporting across four states.\nSupport wastewater permit renewals and evaluate potential technology improvements in partnership with internal teams and external partners.\nWaste\nTrack waste streams and material usage across nine plants to support compliance, reporting, and operational visibility.\nMonitor air permit compliance requirements, including control device inspections, product deliveries, chemical usage, and visible emission inspections.\nPrepare and submit internal and external waste reports as required.\nStormwater\nCoordinate stormwater sampling activities across nine plants.\nPerform required calculations and submit final stormwater reports to applicable city and state regulatory agencies.\nAir\nSupport completion of new construction, reconstruction, and equipment permitting processes.\nPrepare and submit air permit reports, Title V Annual Compliance Reports, Semi-Annual Deviation Reports, and Emission Inventories.\nContinuous Improvement\nDevelop, deploy, and facilitate environmental training based on established policies and procedures.\nSupport internal environmental audits across company manufacturing sites.\nSupport external and third-party audits by compiling data, maintaining required database entries, and participating in onsite verification activities.\nGeneral Responsibilities\nRespond to environmental issues at regional facilities and support emergency response activities as needed.\nMaintain working knowledge of environmental regulatory requirements and oversight expectations across five states.\nGather and maintain fuel usage and waste disposal records to support sustainability reporting.\nAbility to perform complex environmental data calculations and analysis using Excel to support reporting, compliance, and operational decision-making.\nAbility to translate complex environmental and regulatory issues into clear, concise communication, high-level verbiage for plant personnel, leadership, and consultants.\nPerform additional duties as assigned by management.\nTravel to plant sites as needed to support environmental operations, compliance activities, and site-level execution.\nType of Experience and Knowledge:\nBachelor’s degree in a related field.\n2-4 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.\nFoundational knowledge of common pollutants, manufacturing equipment, and state and federal environmental regulations preferred.\nCompetencies:\nExcellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with all levels of management, internal stakeholders, and external business contacts.\nStrong critical thinking, time management, problem-solving, and information-processing skills.\nSelf-directed professional with technical aptitude and strong mathematical and analytical capabilities.\nAbility to travel independently to plant locations and maintain an effective onsite work schedule; typical travel is 15-20%, with potential travel up to 50% during major projects.\nDemonstrated proficiency with business and technical systems, including Access, Excel, Word, MS Project, and other databases.\nAbility to present and explain technical information to stakeholders clearly, confidently, and concisely.\nDemonstrated initiative and willingness to collaborate cross-functionally with other departments.\nAbility to work in a hybrid capacity, report onsite as business needs require, and adhere to Dal-Tile attendance and PTO policies.\nOther Pertinent Job Information: (Such as: American with Disabilities Act- ADA requirements for certain hourly positions).\nDisclaimer: The information on this description was prepared by EHS and department management and is designed to indicate the general nature and level of the work performed by employees within this classification.
