This role will be responsible for conducting research, designing experiments, and developing new technologies or products.\nWhat you'll do:\nUse scientific and engineering principles to develop new materials and products as well as create detailed design specifications to support R&D and manufacturing projects.\nConduct research to identify market trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies.\nAnalyze data and scientific literature to inform the development process.\nConceive and develop new process technologies.\nPerform accurate analyses, conduct research, and draw meaningful conclusions about potential job/work-area impacts.\nCollaborate with product managers and design teams to conceptualize new products or improvements to existing ones.\nDesign and fabricate prototypes.\nPerform physical and analytical testing of laboratory prototypes using standard test equipment.\nConduct experiments to test prototypes and validate product performance.\nAnalyze test data and make design modifications based on results.\nHelp to transfer new products and technologies from laboratory prototypes to production scale.\nAssist with process and technical support for R&D projects implemented in manufacturing.\nPerforms other duties as needed.\nWhat you have:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field or equivalent education and/or experience. \n2-4 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience. \nWorking knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control required.\nAble to set up, run and/or interpret results from a wide variety of laboratory test equipment.\nWhat you're good at:\nRequires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline.\nAble to perform hands-on laboratory work.\nExcellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.\nAble to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.\nHigh level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.\nHigh degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.\nMohawk Industries is a leading global flooring manufacturer that creates products to enhance residential and commercial spaces around the world.
