This role plays a key role in promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by collaborating with various departments to minimize workplace hazards and foster a culture of safety.\nDuties and Responsibilities of the Position:\nAnalyze and classify risks and losses and measure financial impact upon the company. \nDesign and direct programs to reduce accidents, occupational illness, and exposure to long term health hazards. \nTrain employees and management in safety practices. \nInvestigate accidents, injuries, or occupational illnesses to determine causes and preventive measures. \nReview plans and specifications for construction or purchase of new machinery or equipment to determine whether all safety requirements have been met. \nConduct safety audits, record, and rate severity level, and assign responsibility for corrective actions. \nCoach site-specific leadership team on the expectations, tools, and implementation of the Safety Management System. \nTrack and monitor SMS level specific KPI’s. \nCreate and continually improve SMS specific training such as Supervisor Hazard identification/Mitigation, Supervisor Safety Communication Skills, Roles, and Responsibilities. \nEnsure the integrity of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations. \nPerforms other duties as needed. \nRequired Experience and Education:\nBachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience. \n6-8 years of job-related experience or equivalent education and/or experience. \nSafety training and certificates preferred. \nKnowledge of OSHA safety disciplines, other regulatory guidelines, and common industrial safety practices. \nCompetencies:\nRequires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field. \nRecognized cross-functionally as an expert within one or two subject matter areas. \nExcellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. \nAble to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. \nHigh level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data. \nProficient using Microsoft Office Suite products. \nFlexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player and able to handle multiple projects at once. \nHigh degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures. \nOther Pertinent Job Information:\nDisclaimer: It is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications required of employees assigned to this job. \nOccasional travel is required. \nThis role may work in classrooms, offices, and high-traffic production floors. \nTemporary indirect reporting relationships may exist while working as Project lead.
