Whether you want to lead more, innovate more, learn more or create more, you can find your more with Mohawk.\nWhat we need:\nThe Supervisor Production is an entry-level leader role that oversees a team of employees focused on Production and Manufacturing initiatives aimed at optimizing processes, reducing waste, and enhancing productivity. This role is responsible for continuously improving all production methods while adhering to all safety procedures and providing guidance, support, and direction to team members.\nWhat you’ll do:\nSupervise the department-specific Manufacturing functions across one or more shifts which includes reviewing production orders and/or schedules to ensure that production requirements within the department are completed according to established production schedules.\nResolve operational, process, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and production downtime.\nSchedule personnel and assign work to meet production requirements efficiently and cost-effectively. \nEnsure adherence to established priorities for production workflow. \nAssist with planning, developing, and administering departmental procedures, policies, and standards. Ensure organizational policies and procedures are communicated and practiced. \nDevelop appropriate measures or standards for performance and use these to monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve employees and production. \nMaintain shift reports and records.\nVerify employee hours worked in time keeping system (Kronos) daily.\nProvide consistent and constructive feedback to employees; train, develop, or identify employee training and resource needs.\nEstablish priorities, and monitor the quality and quantity of work performed by the department and the individuals within the department. This includes ensuring quality requirements and procedures for the department and plant are communicated, understood, and practiced. \nMaintain control of resources to ensure ongoing operation of the department within the established budget, productivity, and efficiency standards; develop and maintain effective working relationships with other departments to proactively address issues that may potentially impact the quality of the production process or product. \nWork with safety committee by attending safety meetings, working on safety projects, completing safety surveys, performing safety training, and ensuring a safe work environment and appropriate employee behavior.\nInvolved in the hiring process for assigned employee work group. Responsible for employee counseling and disciplinary actions, including recommendations for termination. Involves HR for assistance in the resolution of employee relation issues through effective remediation techniques.\nMaintain accurate records of improvement initiatives, performance metrics, and outcomes.\nMonitor work quality and adherence to standards, ensuring products or services meet or exceed established criteria.\nAddress and resolve operational issues, conflicts, and challenges that may arise within the team.\nPerform other duties as needed.\nWhat you have:\nBachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.\n4-6 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience. \n0-2 years of management experience.\nWhat you’re good at:\nRequires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field.\nFocused on and responsible for their team's productivity and collective impact.\nExcellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.\nAble to multitask, prioritize, delegate, and manage time effectively.\nHigh level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.\nProficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.\nFlexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player, and able to handle multiple projects at once.\nHigh degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.\nWhat else?\nThis employee will be responsible for direct reports.\nOccasional exposure to hazardous conditions caused by noise, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and other conditions associated with a high-traffic production floor.\nMust be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time.\nBending, crouching, and stooping may be required.\nMust be able to work in non-climate-controlled facilities.\nThe work environment may be a noisy, high traffic manufacturing production floor.\nMay be required to work a flexible schedule to include evening and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.\nThe ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.\nThe ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.\nMohawk Industries is a leading global flooring manufacturer that creates products to enhance residential and commercial spaces around the world.
