Come find your “more” with Mohawk!\nWhat we need:\nMohawk is looking for a Tufting Machine Operator in the Dalton, Ga area. You will Operate a level loop, patterned loop, cut pile or enhanced graphics tufting machine.\n\nWhat you’ll do:\nOperates tufting machine (Ex. Threading and/or replacing needles, replace cutting blades, align cutting blade block, hook replacement, etc.).\nConducts machine set up checks (production checklist, “deck board” and backing verification).\nCompares tufted carpet to griege standard and side/center/side match.\nPerforms quality inspection during production runs, mends voids in carpets as required.\nChanges backing as required.\nDoffs off carpet rolls as required.\nMust follow company guidelines and operating procedures, and identifies unsafe working, building and environmental conditions.\nMust report any issue to supervisor and/or appropriate department head or crew leader for resolution. \nEnsures compliance to all company and regulatory safety and environmental guidelines and practices to include wearing the appropriate safety garments, using the appropriate tools and equipment, and exercising the required safety behaviors for the task at hand.\nAttend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision \nFollow all established standard operating procedures \nPerform general housekeeping duties as necessary\nPerform other tasks assigned by management\nWhat you have:\nHigh school graduate or GED equivalency preferred.\nPrior experience in operating tufting machine equipment required, and/or equivalent combination of on the job training and work experience.\nReads and writes in standard English and proficient performing basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction.\nSuccessful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.\nMay be required to use PC and other department specific database systems.\nWhat you’re good at:\nAbility to communicate in standard English to understand and follow verbal or written instructions and to keep simple records and make reports.\nAbility to work well with people.\nAbility to maintain an acceptable level of attendance in accordance with company and department guidelines.\nAbility to perform specific duties with instructions but without direct supervision.\n\nWhat else:\nAbility to lift up to 20 pounds.\nMust be able to walk long distances, climb on ladders, and stand for long periods of time frequently. \nBending, crouching, and stooping may be required. \nMust also be able to work in non-climate-controlled facilities. \nWork environment is a noisy, high traffic production floor.\nMust be able to pass a color blind and or color hue test for preventing quality defects on running product \nMay be required to work a flexible schedule to include evening and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.\nWilling to work in all types of weather.\nMohawk Industries is a leading global flooring manufacturer that creates products to enhance residential and commercial spaces around the world.
