Learn more: www.mohawkmedbuy.ca.\n\nWe are currently recruiting for a Senior Software Engineer to support our IT – Application Development team. \n\nPosition Overview\n\nThe Senior Software Engineer designs, implements and supports “in-house” corporate web applications linked to Business Central, specifically our main ERP and P2P (Procure-to-Pay) solution that supports core organizational functions and ensure their high availability. The incumbent also provides support to the other Solution Developers with the architecting, coding and testing of software solutions. \n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nStrategy & Planning\nParticipate in the design and implement long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining corporate web applications and software \nDevelop and implement application standards that are aligned with organizational goals and objectives \nAssist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications \nWork with the planned phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for a variety of projects \nConduct research on emerging technologies in support of web application development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility\nAcquisition & Development\nWhere applicable, design, develop, & implement software and functionality for corporate systems \nRecommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades\n\nOperational Management\nDesign and develop web-based software programs, reports and applications according to specifications \nIdentify and correct bugs and design errors \nIdentify and implement optimizations to code and processes to improve performance and resource intensive activities \nWrite complex data queries or applications to extract and/or manipulate large data sets \nGenerate statistics and prepare and write reports for management and/or team members. \nLiaise with team to assist in resolving problems with software and corporate systems. \nWhen required, field incoming requests to the Service Desk via both telephone and e-mail to ensure courteous, timely and effective resolution of end user issues\n\nQualifications and Skills\n\nEducation, Training, and Experience\nExcellent understanding of best practices for coding methodologies \nSkill in the design, use and maintenance of relational databases, custom data models \nProven ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, influence solution design decisions, and contribute to a high-performing development team. \nAbility to collaborate and support other peer developers \nDemonstrated critical thinking and decision-making abilities \nAbility to troubleshoot complex technical issues in a fast-paced environment\n\nMandatory\nUniversity Degree in Programming, Computer Science and/or Database Development/Administration \n5+ years proven experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying full-stack applications end-to-end \nProven experience contributing to or owning test plans, test coverage, and quality practices \nStrong proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript in modern application development \nProficient with building backend services using Node.js, including API design and performance considerations \nProficiency with unit and component testing using React Testing Library \nProficiency in building and deploying applications on Microsoft Azure and experience working with Azure SQL/Managed Instances \nProficiency with designing and consuming RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services \nSolid knowledge of Agile development and project management methodologies\n\nPreferred\nProficiency with Azure logic Apps, Azure APIM \nProficiency with Azure Service Bus, Azure Event grid, Azure blob storage, Azure communication services \nProficiency with code repository standards, including branching techniques and CI/CD deployments \nFamiliarity with implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth, JWT) \nWorking knowledge of other programming languages including .NET (C#), Java \nWorking knowledge of building responsive, production-grade frontends using modern frameworks and component libraries (e.g., React, Material UI, Tailwind) \nFamiliarity with both monolithic and microservices architectures, with an understanding of trade-offs \nWorking knowledge of application security best practices (e.g., OWASP, NIST) applied in development \nExperience working directly with Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI technologies is considered an asset.
