You translate complex business requirements into technical solutions and vice versa, from the first pre-sales conversation through implementation and beyond. Your counterparts are CTOs, solution architects, and engineering teams at Europe's most ambitious software platforms, marketplaces, and enterprise organisations.\nThis is a player-coach role. You'll lead and develop the team while staying deeply hands-on with our most complex and strategic engagements. You'll shape how we sell, how we implement, and how we feed learnings back into the Connect product roadmap.\nWhat you'll ship\nLead & develop the team\nMentor and grow a team of six Solutions Engineers. Own hiring, performance management, and career development in partnership with our HR Business Partner.\n\nDefine the team's way of working and set OKRs that align with Mollie Connect's strategic priorities.\n\nAlign closely with Partner Management team leads to ensure seamless collaboration across commercial and technical workstreams.\n\nPre-sales & consultative selling\nLead upmarket pre-sales / upsell engagements alongside partner acquisition and partner growth managers, acting as a trusted technical advisor to prospects and designing solutions that unlock value.\n\nDevelop and refine the team's consultative selling approach as we move toward larger, more complex platform partners.\n\nImplementation consulting & technical delivery\nStay hands-on with the most complex integrations, particularly multi-entity setups with unique compliance, regulatory, or architectural challenges.\n\nGuide the team in supporting partners from integration design through technical validation and go-live, keeping all stakeholders aligned throughout.\n\nProduct & strategic influence\nRepresent the voice of platform partners in product discussions and contribute to shaping the Mollie Connect roadmap as part of the domain leadership team.\n\nCollaborate with Engineering Managers, Partner Marketing, and Product Marketing to ensure our solutions and enablement materials reflect real-world partner needs.\n\nWhat you'll bring\n7+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Technical Consulting, Sales Engineering, or a comparable role in the software/SaaS industry.\n\nAt least 2 years of experience leading a team, whether as a formal team lead or in a senior player-coach capacity. You know how to develop people, set direction, and create the conditions for a team to do their best work.\n\nStrong technical acumen. You're comfortable reading and discussing APIs, integration architectures, and technical documentation. You can hold your own in conversations with engineers, architects, and CTOs.\n\nHands-on experience with APIs, webhooks, and modern integration patterns. You understand how platforms are built and how payments fit into broader technology ecosystems.\n\nProven ability in consultative, technical pre-sales. You know how to discover needs, design solutions, and articulate value to both technical and commercial stakeholders.\n\nExperience working with complex, multi-stakeholder environments: SaaS platforms, marketplaces, or enterprise organisations with layered decision-making.\n\nComfort with ambiguity and ownership. You thrive in environments where you need to define the path, not just follow it.\n\nFluent in English.\n\nGood to have\nExperience in the payments, fintech, or financial services industry.\n\nUnderstanding of compliance and regulatory challenges in multi-entity or cross-border payment setups (e.g., PSD2, KYC/KYB, marketplace fund flows).\n\nProficiency in one or more coding languages.
