Join us.\nThe Opportunity\nWe are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-op to join our Engineering team, starting in January 2027. In this role, you will support the design, development, and testing of our battery energy storage systems while gaining hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers.\nYou will contribute to mechanical design, fabrication, testing, and documentation while helping bring new products from concept through prototype and testing. This is a great opportunity for a student who enjoys hands-on work and wants to apply mechanical engineering principles to real-world clean energy technology.\nResponsibilities and Duties\nSupport the mechanical design and integration of battery energy storage systems\nUse 3D CAD software to create models and develop detailed mechanical drawings\nContribute to the research, development, and improvement of mechanical subsystems\nAssist with hands-on fabrication and assembly of enclosures and subsystems\nPerform basic mechanical and electrical assembly tasks including installing fasteners, connectors, and wiring harnesses\nAssist in mechanical and system-level testing and document results\nProduce design documentation, test documentation, and FMEA documentation\nSupport mechanical builds, prototype testing, and troubleshooting during development\nCollaborate with engineers to ensure products are reliable, manufacturable, and ready for production\nThe Student we’re looking for:\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline\nStrong preference for students with design team or previous co-op experience\nStrong preference for students available for an 8-month co-op term\nExperience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)\nCareer interest in mechanical design, prototyping, and product development\nHands-on experience with fabrication, assembly, or prototyping (school projects, labs, or personal projects are acceptable)\nUnderstanding of mechanical drawings, tolerancing, and engineering documentation\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills\nDetail-oriented with good documentation and communication skills\nAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment\nThe Experience You’ll Gain:\nHands-on experience developing real subsystems used in energy storage systems\nMentorship from experienced professional mechanical engineers\nExposure to product development, prototyping, and testing\nThe opportunity to contribute to technology supporting the clean energy transition\nWhy join us?\nToday, we’re delivering 5x the energy density and have all the certifications needed to ship energy independence to the world.\nBe part of a mission-driven company focused on creating sustainable energy solutions and making a positive impact on the world.\nCollaborate closely with passionate co-founders and a team committed to innovation and excellence.\nContribute to building and scaling a company from the ground up, where your work will have a direct and meaningful impact.\nThrive in a workplace that values collaboration, wellness, and celebrating successes, with regular company socials, fitness sessions, and more.\nWe're a fast-paced and dynamic team.\nEvery day you'll be taking on a new challenge and learning something new.
