As an R&D Laboratory Technician, you will collaborate closely with synthetic chemists and material scientists to support the design, development, and evaluation of cutting-edge personal care technologies.In this role, you will perform a variety of laboratory activities, including organic synthesis, sample preparation, analytical testing, and material characterization. You will leverage both instrumental and wet chemistry techniques to evaluate the chemical and physical properties of new materials, helping drive research projects from concept through development. This is an excellent opportunity for a laboratory professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and contributing directly to product innovation.\nPlease note that this role requires on-site presence five days per week, Monday through Friday.\nApplicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.\nResponsibilities Include:\nUnder direct supervision, conduct synthesis experiments for new polymers in glassware or metal reactors.\n\nPrepare chemical samples and perform instrumental testing according to established guidelines.\n\nGenerate and record appropriate data, perform calculations, and complete necessary documentation.\n\nEffective management of multiple tasks as per priority laid by scientists.\n\nMaintain a safety mindset and focus.\n\nContribute to the development of new materials for the Beauty Personal Care segment\n\nContribute to the safety teams and aid in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.\n\nPurchase chemicals and lab disposables.\n\nMake sure the chemical inventory is up to date.\n\nReceive packages and ship samples.\n\nComplete routine instrument cleaning and maintenance and contact vendor when repair is needed.\n\nResponsible for daily housekeeping, organization, and lab safety.\n\nCompletes other duties as assigned\n\nQualifications:\nThe following are required for the role\nBachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, or Engineering\n\n1-3+ years of experience in a laboratory setting.\n\nWorking knowledge of organic chemistry with the ability to carry out synthetic experiments. ·\n\nWorking knowledge of standard personal computer applications (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, etc.) ·\n\nAble to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a cross-functional team environment. ·\n\nExcellent oral and written communication skills in English. ·\n\nSelf-motivated individual with a high level of technical curiosity.\n\nThe following are preferred for the role\nExperience with analytical and characterization techniques, including rheology, tribology, particle size analysis, or similar instrumental methods ·\n\nBasic knowledge of cosmetic and personal care ingredients. ·\n\nHighly detail-oriented and analytical. ·\n\nProven technical problem-solving ability. ·\n\nEffective technical writing skills with experience preparing laboratory documentation, reports, and protocols. ·\n\nCapable of operating complex instrumentation with limited supervision. ·\n\nExperience in maintaining and repairing lab equipment.\n\nWhat We Offer:\nBase Pay Range: $35 - $51The base salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography.If you are interested in this position, we’dask that you apply!#BePartoftheSolution\nAt Momentive, compensation is one part of your overall package.
