You'll collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Quality, and EHS teams to solve complex challenges, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and make a visible impact on plant performance.\nThis is an opportunity to move beyond classroom theory and apply engineering principles to real-world manufacturing processes while developing project management, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.\nResponsibilities Include:\nImprove Manufacturing Performance (OEE)\nAnalyze production and equipment performance data to identify the primary drivers of downtime, reduced throughput, and other losses impacting Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).\n\nConduct root cause investigations using engineering problem-solving methodologies and collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability teams to develop and implement corrective actions.\n\nTrack project results and quantify improvements in equipment reliability, productivity, and operational efficiency.\n\nDrive Cost Reduction and Process Optimization\nIdentify opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs through process improvements, waste reduction initiatives, and optimization of raw material and utility consumption.\n\nEvaluate process performance through data analysis, plant observations, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.\n\nDevelop business cases and financial benefit analyses to support project recommendations and measure realized savings.\n\nEnhance Product Quality and Customer Satisfaction\nSupport quality improvement initiatives aimed at reducing the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and improving overall product consistency.\n\nInvestigate process-related quality issues, identify root causes, and recommend sustainable corrective and preventive actions.\n\nPartner with Production, Quality, and Technical teams to implement improvements that enhance product quality and reduce customer complaints.\n\nLead Engineering Projects from Concept to Completion\nCharter, scope, and execute projects aligned with site operational and strategic objectives.\n\nDevelop project plans, track milestones, communicate progress, and present recommendations to engineering and site leadership teams.\n\nDeliver measurable results while gaining hands-on experience in a large-scale manufacturing environment.\n\nUtilize Data to Drive Continuous Improvement\nCollect, organize, and analyze production, quality, and cost data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.\n\nApply engineering and statistical problem-solving techniques to support operational decision-making.\n\nCreate reports, presentations, and visualizations that communicate findings and project outcomes to stakeholders.\n\nCollaborate Across Functional Teams\nWork closely with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Quality, EHS, and Engineering personnel to solve complex manufacturing challenges.\n\nParticipate in plant meetings, field observations, and cross-functional improvement efforts to gain a broad understanding of manufacturing operations.\n\nQualifications:\nThe following are required for the role\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\n\nDemonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in a manufacturing or industrial environment.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate technical data and identify process improvement opportunities.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities, balance project deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced setting.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with strong skills in Excel for data analysis, reporting, and project tracking.\n\nEffective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.\n\nStrong collaboration skills and the ability to work across Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Reliability, and Engineering teams.\n\nThe following are preferred qualifications:\nCoursework or project experience in manufacturing processes, process engineering, statistics, process control, or continuous improvement.\n\nExperience analyzing data and using engineering principles to solve technical problems.\n\nFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.\n\nExperience with data visualization, reporting tools, or engineering software is a plus.\n\nProgram Minimum Qualifications:\nThe candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship.\n\nThe candidate is expected to be available 40 hours a week for a period of 10-12 weeks between the months of May and August.\n\nWhat We Offer:\nBase Pay Range: $22.00 -
