Monarch Communities operate 34 communities in six mid-Atlantic states (Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania).\n Salary Range: $16.00 - $16.35 Hourly\nFlexible Schedule Including Weekend Day\nReports To:\nThe Kitchen Helper reports to the Culinary Services Director, Executive Chef, or other designated Culinary Services leader.\nFLSA Classification:\nThis position is classified as non-exempt and is an hourly position.\nJob Overview:\nSupports the culinary team with dishwashing, sanitation, cleaning, and routine meal preparation and service-support tasks. Helps ensure the kitchen, dining service areas, and meal service operations are clean, organized, stocked, and prepared to provide excellent service to residents and guests.\nResponsibilities and Duties:\nMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with sanitation standard operating procedures.\nOperate dishwashing equipment safely and properly; wash, clean, and store pots, pans, cooking utensils, plates, glasses, cups, silverware, and other foodservice equipment.\nMaintain adequate cleaning supplies, monitor chemical dispensers, use required safety equipment, and remove kitchen trash and refuse as needed.\nSupport preparation for meal service through simple kitchen tasks such as washing and preparing fruits and vegetables, placing prepared items into pans or service containers, assembling salads, plating desserts, portioning or arranging items for service, and assisting with tray setup.\nAssist servers with side work and routine setup tasks to ensure dining areas and service stations are prepared for each meal service.\nAssist with room service tray delivery and the delivery and retrieval of meal carts to and from satellite kitchens or designated service areas.\nAssist during meal service by removing soiled dishes from dining areas and returning them to the dishwashing station.\nParticipate in required in-service training and follow all Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as community policies and procedures.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications:\nHigh school diploma or GED preferred\nPrior food service, kitchen, or hospitality experience preferred\nAbility to follow written and verbal instructions\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment\nPhysical Abilities:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the associate is often required to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell.\nAn individual in this position will be required to lift or carry weight in up to 50 lbs. Intermittent physical activity includes lifting and supporting residents.
