You will contribute to the future of snacking by keeping the consumer at the heart of our innovation. Deliverables may include producing technical reports and presentations, sharing insights with stakeholders and fostering transparency and collaboration. You will have the opportunity to work with the broader RDQ community, business functions, and external suppliers, building your network and confidence. For some roles, occasional international travel may be required.\nAbout the role:\nTheMDLZ R&DEngineering teams, Process(regional & global)andModelling & Simulation (M&S)teams,enable businessgrowth and productivity initiatives by developing fundamental understanding of our manufacturing processesand applying engineering creativity. This knowledge enables the installation, commissioningand optimizingof manufacturing lines for a financial benefit, as well as toinnovate & develop new manufacturing processes,leveragingdigital tools to accelerate all areas of process development and deployment.\nKey Responsibilities:\nOwning & managing project tracks\n\nPlanning, organising & running trials\n\nWriting trial plans, technical reports & recommendations\n\nDeveloping roll-out and commissioning plans and validation studies\n\nStakeholder management including presentations\n\nIf there are opportunities, able to travel overseas, for plant trials/commissioning work\n\nThere are variousroles:\nMEU Region-Process\nIn the regional process team, the work is predominantly developingand deploying projects directly into factories across our European network. The nature of the workvaries from developing newproductsto deploying complex breakthrough projects along with the Global Process team.The team requiresgood problem-solvingskills alongside clear communication with a range of different stakeholders.\nGlobal Process Development\nThe global process team leads the development of new breakthrough technologies and processes for applications across MLDZ’s entire confectionary portfolio, to enable step change improvements to MDLZ’s existing manufacturing capabilities. The team enables growth by developing process technologies that unlock new capability for innovative product development, and productivity opportunities by increasing efficiencies in our end-to-end manufacturing processes, all whilst minimising cost and environmental impact. This team has two roles available:\nPilot Plant Engineering:Facilitatesa wide range of engineering projects directly for our world class Bournville Pilot Plant. (Equipment Installations, Infrastructure Projects, Facilities Management)\nProcess Technology Engineering:Focuses on discovery of emerging technology and developing breakthrough processes for our Global product portfolio.\nModelling & Simulation\nThe Modelling and Simulation team leads the development and deployment of modelling tools for applications across MLDZ’s entire confectionary portfolio. The tools developed help to digitize the process and product development, by reducing the amountof physical trials needed and providing insights not possible by traditional methods.\nThe role available is in the physical sciences team where we leveragecommercial tools such as CFD and FEA along with first principles approaches to address the needs of the business.\nWhat we’relooking for:\nEducation: Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’sDegree in Engineering,or similar technical field, with a predicted grade of 2:1 (or equivalent)- e.g, Chemical / Mechanical Engineering(candidates from other disciplines with strong technical Maths/Science background will also be considered)\n\nStrong understanding of Mathematics and Physics\n\nSelf-drive and motivation\n\nNaturally inquisitive and passionate about technical excellence and scientific understanding andcan apply fundamental knowledge practically\n\nCan work with a level of autonomy, as well as works well in a team\n\nDemonstrates strong analytical, communication and presentation abilities\n\nPro-active, highly motivated, ready to take on new responsibilities and build strong relationships\n\nOrganisation and planning skills\n\nGood working knowledge of MS Office\n\nAdditionaldesirableskills\nKnowledge of Python\n\nExperience with 3D / CAD modelling\n\nStatistical data analysis\n\nWhat you’ll gain:\nIt’sthe people that makes Mondelez a great placeto work and there is a comprehensive onboarding and training plan with buddies on hand to fully support your time with us.\nGain hands on experience in a world leading FMCG R&D department\n\nDevelop technical skills in food processing, analysisand modelling & simulation\n\nLearn about process development from proof of concept to deployment and validation\n\nNetwork with experienced industry engineers and scientists\n\nStarting salary: £23,793\nThis position does not meet the minimum salary requirements for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Your responsibilities include project scoping, trial planning, Pilot Plant trials, and data analysis, giving a great balance of desk and hands on work.\nYou are given opportunities to develop your critical thinking and technical rigour through research and hypotheses planning to understand what is happening during the different processes and solving problems with novel solutions. This understanding is applied to experimental design to prove hypotheses in the Pilot Plant.
