This position owns the quality and delivery of the firm’s tax work - reviewing returns, managing client relationships, and leading and developing the tax team. The ideal candidate is a seasoned tax professional who wants ownership of a practice, not just a return stack.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nYou’ll lead the day-to-day operation of the tax practice while partnering closely with advisors to deliver integrated planning. Your work will span four key areas:\nReview & Technical Oversight\nReview individual, fiduciary, exempt, corporate, and partnership returns for accuracy and technical soundness.\nServe as the firm’s technical resource on complex or unusual filing positions.\nManage responses to IRS and state agency correspondence, examinations, and notices.\nClient Relationships & Planning\nOwn a book of client relationships, serving as primary point of contact through the engagement lifecycle.\nPartner with wealth advisors to develop and implement integrated tax and financial planning strategies.\nIdentify planning opportunities across multigenerational families, business owners, and trusts.\nTeam Leadership & Development\nSupervise, mentor, and develop tax associates - setting expectations, reviewing work, and building technical capability.\nManage workflow, capacity, and deadlines across the team through busy season and beyond.\nContribute to hiring and onboarding as the practice grows.\nPractice Operations & Growth\nImprove processes, technology, and workflow to increase efficiency and consistency.\nSupport the growth of the tax practice, including expansion into newly acquired offices.\nMaintain compliance standards and stay current with evolving federal and state tax law.\nWhat We’re Looking For:\nCPA or EA required.\n7+ years of progressive tax experience, including review responsibility.\nDemonstrated experience supervising, mentoring, or managing tax staff.\nStrong technical depth across individual, fiduciary, partnership, and corporate returns.\nTax planning experience with high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and trusts.\nRIA or wealth management industry experience preferred.\nProficiency with tax software including Lacerte, TaxDome, and SurePrep; Microsoft Office Suite; QuickBooks Online and Desktop.\nExcellent communication skills and a client-first orientation.\nWhy Join Moneco Advisors?\nThis is a rare opportunity to lead a tax practice inside a growing wealth management firm - where your work directly informs how clients plan, invest, and transfer wealth.
