To scale better and deliver more customer value, the ERP Cross-Functional Engineering Department was established in 2023 to unify engineering foundations and improve collaboration across ERP Division teams.\n\nTo strengthen further the ERP Division, we are expanding ERP-X capabilities at Money Forward India (Pune) to work closely with ERP product teams and ERP-X teams in Japan and Vietnam, contributing to the division's success through shared platforms and AI-enabled engineering.\n\nRole Summary :\n\nWe are hiring an Engineering Manager to help build and lead a new ERP-X team in Pune. The team will collaborate with cross-location ERP-X teams to deliver AI solutions and engineering foundations that accelerate ERP product development.\n\nThis role is ideal for a leader who thrives in a collaborative, cross-cultural environment; can build high-performing teams from the ground up; and can balance people leadership, delivery ownership, and technical guidance to drive measurable business impact.\n\nKey Responsibilities :\n\n- Build, hire, and grow a new engineering team in Pune; define team structure, roles, and operating rhythm.\n\n- Lead execution and delivery of cross-functional initiatives in collaboration with ERP-X teams in Japan and Vietnam.\n\n- Provide hands-on technical direction and coaching to ensure high engineering quality and sound architectural decisions.\n\n- Actively participate in hands-on software development alongside engineers, contributing to design, implementation, code reviews, and technical problem-solving when needed.\n\n- Partner with product management, engineering leaders, security, and platform teams to align priorities and deliver outcomes.\n\n- Establish strong engineering practices (Agile delivery, SDLC, code quality, reliability, incident practices, documentation).\n\n- Drive continuous improvement using data and metrics (delivery predictability, quality, throughput, utilization, operational health).\n\n- Build an inclusive, high-trust culture with strong performance management, mentoring, and career development.\n\nRequired Skills & Experience :\n\n- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 4 - 6+ years in engineering management or delivery leadership roles.\n\n- Proven experience building and managing engineering teams and/or leading large-scale delivery programs.\n\n- Experience managing organizations of ~10+ engineers, including multiple teams and/or tech leads.\n\n- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and distributed teams.\n\n- Experience working with AI tools and platforms, with the ability to guide teams in technical decision-making and adoption.\n\n- Experience building enterprise SaaS applications, platforms, or web applications.\n\n- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery, and engineering operations.\n\n- Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern DevOps practices, including hands-on experience with AWS.\n\n- Strong people leadership skills: hiring, mentoring, performance management, and organizational design.\n\n- Experience working with distributed/offshore/nearshore teams.\n\nPreferred Skills & Experience :\n\n- Understanding of AI agent patterns (tool use, function calling, memory, multi-turn interaction, guardrails).\n\n- Experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms and/or developer platforms.\n\n- Familiarity with observability practices and tools (e.g., Datadog, logging, tracing).\n\n- Experience designing and improving CI/CD pipelines and automated infrastructure workflows.\n\n- Strong cross-functional collaboration experience across product, platform, and security teams.\n\nLanguage Requirements :\n\n- English : Fluent (meetings, written communication).\n\n- Japanese : Not required;
