Our goal is to help our readers, both humans and AI, successfully use MongoDB products by providing outstanding documentation. The MongoDB Documentation team is a part of the MongoDB Core Product organization and is tightly integrated with the engineering teams responsible for each product. \nThe Docs team is responsible for documenting all aspects of the MongoDB data platform including the database, query language, Atlas, Vector Search, VoyageAI models, Full-Text Search, Stream Processing, client libraries, administrative tools, connectors, and more.\nYour AI-forward mindset coupled with strong writing and technical skills will create clear reference docs and tutorials on high-complexity features. Your work, along with the other two MongoDB Docs teams, support AI agents, answer engines, and a large global community of new and experienced MongoDB users.\nWe are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Gurgaon, Bengaluru or Mumbai for our hybrid working model.\nCandidate Profile:\nCandidates must have experience in a technical writing, technical communications, developer relations, or similar role in the software industry. Beyond industry experience, we are looking for someone who:\nHas experience writing technical documentation from scratch in English\nPossesses strong critical reading and writing skills\nHas hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate documentation work\nLeverages sound editorial judgment to evaluate AI-generated content against source material for technical accuracy\nHas experience with cloud and database technologies\nIs able to read code for technical examples in at least one programming language (e.g., C++, C#, Java, Python, JavaScript)\nHas experience testing and validating documentable features and concepts\nPosition Expectations:\nAdvocate for users in everything you write\nWork with technical and non-technical teams to meet the documentation needs of our users\nResearch complex product features and validate with diligent testing\nProduce technically accurate and well-written documentation\nContribute feedback to the team through copy review and planning discussions\nSuccess Measures:\nIn 3 months:\nYou'll be comfortable with our toolchain, AI tooling, and writing workflow\nYou can implement small to medium complexity documentation requests\nYou're getting to know our server engineers and are getting comfortable with participating in intra and inter team discussions\nYou've completed the required technical training and courses required for MongoDB Engineering\nIn 6 months:\nYou are getting comfortable doing deep dives into database architecture and technology as part of feature documentation\nYou've got a working knowledge of the MongoDB data platform and know who to follow up with when you need to learn more\nYou've adapted to our style of writing and your work demonstrates technical writing best practices\nYou begin reviewing the work of your peers and learning from it\nYou and your manager have discussed your career trajectory and growth opportunities\nYou've helped the team improve and establish effective, well-vetted AI-assisted workflows for drafting and review\nIn 12 months:\nYou're creating consistently high quality documentation for entire feature sets, complex tutorials, and high level concepts\nYou know how much work you can manage and are contributing at a healthy pace\nYou provide quality copy and technical reviews for your team members\nYou provide best practices and coaching on AI-assisted workflows for your team members\nAbout MongoDB\nMongoDB is built for change, empowering our customers and our people to innovate at the speed of the market.
